The most pressing danger for Tommy’s new company is its source of funding. To launch CTT Oil, Tommy entered a partnership with Andy Garcia’s character, cartel boss Danny Gallino. This alliance comes with a severe and explicit threat.
Gallino warned Tommy that if their business deal fails, he will take “what he loves most in this world”. This is not an idle threat in the world of Landman. The show’s first season ended with Tommy being doused in gasoline, a brutal reminder of the real violence these characters face. Beyond the cartel threat, CTT Oil faces enormous business challenges. Tommy and his team are starting from zero, without the backing of a major corporation like M-Tex.
