The toys are back for one more round, and this time the fight is personal. Disney and Pixar dropped the final trailer for Toy Story 5 on May 26, 2026, and ticket sales are now open everywhere. The new footage puts cowgirl Jessie front and center as she rallies Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang to battle a shiny new enemy: a smart tablet named Lilypad that is stealing Bonnie’s attention away from traditional playtime.

The movie arrives in theaters on June 19, 2026. Fans in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and India can expect the same release date across all major markets.

Jessie Steps Up As The Leader In The Tech War

The final trailer makes one thing very clear. This is Jessie’s story. With Woody out in the world rescuing abandoned toys, Jessie takes charge of the group at Bonnie’s house. She watches helplessly as Bonnie spends more time staring at Lilypad, a frog-shaped smart tablet that talks back and seems to know exactly how to keep kids hooked.

Jessie does not back down. When Lilypad tells Bonnie that toys are boring, Jessie declares, “Bonnie still needs us. Our time ain’t over yet”. That line has become the rallying cry for the entire marketing campaign. She gathers the toys and comes up with a plan to remind Bonnie why playing with real toys matters.

Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear, previously teased that the fifth movie focuses heavily on Jessie. He told “LIVE with Kelly and Mark” in September 2025, “It’s such a great story. It’s a Jessie story. Tom and I have to reunite”.

New Villain Lilypad Poses A Real Threat

The antagonist of Toy Story 5 is not an angry kid or a greedy collector. It is Lilypad, a smart tablet voiced by Greta Lee. In the trailer, Lilypad tells Bonnie’s toys directly, “Bonnie doesn’t want to play with toys anymore. She needs me”.

That moment shocks the group. Rex even panics and asks, “Are we getting donated?” as the toys find themselves boxed up in the garage. The trailer cuts between happy scenes of Bonnie playing with her toys and darker moments where she ignores them completely while staring at the screen.

The movie addresses a real concern that many parents face today. Kids have more access to tablets and phones than ever before. Toy Story 5 asks what happens to traditional toys when screens take over playtime.

Bad Bunny And Alan Cumming Join The Voice Cast

Along with the final trailer, Disney announced two big additions to the voice cast. Bad Bunny voices a character named Pizza with Sunglasses. The studio describes this new toy as “effortlessly cool and mysterious.” He belongs to a small group of forgotten toys living in an abandoned backyard shed.

Alan Cumming also joins the movie as Evil Bullseye. Since Bullseye the horse does not speak in the Toy Story world, Cumming voices a playtime version of the character. It is a funny sequence where Woody’s trusty steed gets an alter ego.

These casting announcements dropped alongside the final trailer, giving fans even more reasons to get excited about the June release.

Returning Cast Members Reunite For Fifth Movie

The core cast members are all back. Tom Hanks returns as Woody. Tim Allen suits up again as Buzz Lightyear. Joan Cusack voices Jessie. Tony Hale reprises his role as Forky.

Other familiar voices include Annie Potts as Bo Peep, Wallace Shawn as Rex, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, Keanu Reeves as Duke Caboom, and Kristen Schaal as Trixie.

Conan O’Brien joins the cast as Smarty Pants, a toilet training tech toy. Craig Robinson voices Atlas, a GPS hippo toy. Ernie Hudson takes over as Combat Carl following the passing of Carl Weathers.

Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote and directed WALL-E and co-wrote the first three Toy Story movies, directs this fifth installment. Randy Newman returns to compose the score, just as he has for every movie in the franchise.

Tickets On Sale Now Across All Major Platforms

Fans can purchase tickets for Toy Story 5 starting today. Major ticketing sites like Fandango, Atom Tickets, and theater chains such as AMC, Regal, and Cinemark are selling seats. The movie opens everywhere on June 19, 2026.

The final trailer ends with Buzz telling Woody, “We’re gonna need backup”. That line hints at more surprises waiting for audiences when the movie hits theaters next month.
