The Apple TV+ horror-comedy series Widow’s Bay dropped its eighth episode titled “Your Baggage” on June 3, 2026. The episode follows Patricia as she faces the returning Boogeyman while Mayor Tom Loftis discovers that killing Richard did not end the island’s curse.
Here is a complete breakdown of the main cast members who brought Episode 8 to life.
Matthew Rhys as Mayor Tom Loftis
Matthew Rhys plays Tom Loftis, the mayor of Widow’s Bay who thought he had solved the town’s problems by killing the undead founder Richard. At the start of Episode 8, Tom feels relief that the curse might be over. But by the end, Wyck arrives at his house to inform him that the curse is still very much active, leaving Tom completely confused.
Rhys is known for his award-winning role in The Americans and more recently appeared in The Wingfeather Saga and Towards Zero. His performance in Widow’s Bay shows Tom as a man who keeps trying to explain away supernatural events with logic, and that approach is finally falling apart.
Kate O’Flynn as Patricia
Kate O’Flynn plays Patricia, who becomes the central focus of Episode 8. The Boogeyman arrives at her house and starts chasing her. Patricia runs through the neighborhood trying to get help, but most residents are asleep. She eventually saves herself by setting the Boogeyman on fire.
The episode reveals that Patricia was targeted by the Boogeyman as a teenager. Her high school peers, led by Kris, never believed her story and treated her like she made it up for attention. In Episode 8, Patricia finally gets a chance to face the monster again and prove she was telling the truth.
O’Flynn has also appeared in Everyone Else Burns and My Lady Jane.
Airon Armstrong as The Boogeyman
Airon Armstrong plays The Boogeyman, the serial killer monster that haunts Widow’s Bay. In Episode 8, the Boogeyman ignores Kris when he comes to her house and only focuses on chasing Patricia. His presence adds a dark and intense atmosphere to the episode.
Armstrong works primarily as a stunt double. He served as Wilson Fisk’s stunt double in Daredevil: Born Again and has worked on Caught Stealing and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Stephen Root as Wyck
Stephen Root plays Wyck, the town’s elder who understands the curse better than anyone. In Episode 8, Wyck first believes that killing Richard would solve all their problems. But after finding Patricia’s house empty, his paranoid nature kicks in. He realizes the problems are far from solved and goes to Tom’s house to deliver the bad news.
Root brings a grounded, realistic performance to Wyck. He looks concerned, tired, and mildly annoyed that supernatural horror keeps interrupting everyone’s lives. His other credits include The Terror and It’s Florida, Man.
Lauren Bittner as Kris
Lauren Bittner plays Kris, the mean girl ringleader who has spent years making Patricia’s life difficult. When Patricia runs to Kris’s house for help, Kris is playing cards with friends and refuses to believe that the Boogeyman is chasing anyone. She tells everyone that Patricia lied about the calls, and Patricia finally gives up and agrees.
Bittner has appeared in Hart of Dixie, Bride Wars, and The Black Donnellys.
Kingston Rumi Southwick as Evan
Kingston Rumi Southwick plays Evan, the son of Mayor Tom Loftis. Episode 8 continues to explore the relationship between Tom and Evan. The evolving dynamic between father and son gives the episode real emotional weight, especially as questions about the town’s past continue to hang over their relationship.
Other Cast Members in Episode 8
Additional cast members who appeared in this episode include Emily Davis, Shipwe Moyo, Pat Fitz, and Ava Gaudet.
Episode 8 Story Recap
Episode 8 is titled “Your Baggage.” The official synopsis from Apple TV reads: “Don’t worry about old misplaced luggage. Old baggage always resurfaces in Widow’s Bay.”
The episode focuses on consequences rather than new mythology. After Tom killed Richard in Episode 7, everyone thought the curse was broken. But Patricia’s fight with the Boogeyman proves otherwise. The curse is still active, and the island’s buried secrets continue to come back.
The episode received positive reviews for its character-driven approach. Reviewers praised Kate O’Flynn’s performance as Patricia and Matthew Rhys’ work as Tom. The show continues to balance horror, comedy, and emotional drama effectively.
