The popular dark fantasy light novel series Witch and Hound is officially getting a television anime adaptation. The animation production is being done by TriF Studio. The studio previously worked on Mecha-Ude. Production company Pony Canyon is also involved in the project.

Witch and Hound (Japanese: ้ญๅฅณใจ็็ฌ, Majo to Ryoken) is a light novel series written by Rainy Kamitsuki with illustrations by LAM. The series began publication under Shogakukan’s Gagaga Bunko imprint in October 2020. Six volumes have been published as of December 2024.
The series has also received a manga adaptation by Minori Tsukahara. The manga began serialization in May 2023 on the Manga UP! platform and concluded with four collected volumes. Yen Press has licensed the manga for English release.

The story takes place in a world where the Kingdom of Amelia has a monopoly on magic and uses it to expand its territory through invasion. The small nation of Campusfellow faces certain defeat against Amelia’s overwhelming magical power.
Lord Bud Grace, the ruler of Campusfellow, comes up with a desperate plan. He decides to form an alliance with the terrifying witches who are the subject of countless frightening tales. Rollo, an assassin trained in every method of killing and known as the “Black Dog,” is sent on a mission to gather these seven legendary witches. His journey begins with the Mirror Witch, also known as Teresa Lisa.
