Manon and Anthony Berryman have finally moved into their own home in France on 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. For Manon, a key positive was putting some healthy distance between her new family life and her childhood home. While excited, she also shared fears about the major change from city to quiet village life.

A Bittersweet Goodbye And A Fresh Start

The couple, who have been married for years and have a young son named Ben, packed up and left her parents’ house in Paris. Manon described the move as a long-awaited step into independence. She told the cameras that being two hours away from her parents felt like a “silver lining”.

“Today’s the day when we’re finally moving to our home sweet home. It’s on the off-side of France, but at least it’s two hours away from my parents, so it’s a silver lining. I won’t feel I’m sixteen again,” Manon said.

This physical distance represents a significant emotional step for Manon. She joked about no longer sleeping in the “tiny, tiny bed” from her youth. Her parents offered to keep Ben with them during the move, but Manon quickly refused, making it clear her son was coming with her to start their new life together.

Overwhelming Fears About Countryside Living

Despite her excitement, anxiety took over for Manon during the car ride to their new village, Saint-Victor-de-Malcap. Her worries were practical and immediate. She stressed about how they would afford to furnish their new, larger house after using their savings for the purchase.

The reality of leaving the city behind also hit her hard. She expressed fear about the isolation and lack of modern conveniences in the small countryside village.

“I remember where I am going… because over there it is tiny, there is no food deliveries, no taxi, nothing modern and stuff. I don’t know anyone there. So, it is giving me anxiety,” she confessed.

Manon even explained the meaning of their village’s name, “Saint-Victor-de-Malcap,” noting that “Malcap” suggests a “bad summit” or a place that is “very hard to get to”. She admitted she never imagined herself living in such a tiny village.

Anthony’s Optimism Clashes With Manon’s Buyer’s Remorse

While Manon was filled with doubt, her husband Anthony remained consistently positive and saw the move as the true beginning of their life in France. He viewed the remote village as a potential “hidden gem”.

Anthony recognized Manon’s “buyer remorse” and hoped it would fade quickly. He knows from experience that her happiness sets the tone for the entire household.

“Because historically, in our relationship, if Manon is not happy, nobody is happy,” Anthony shared in a confessional.

The couple’s different perspectives have been a theme. In a previous episode, they clashed while house-hunting when Manon’s visible excitement over a property annoyed Anthony, who wanted to “play it cool”.

Finding Joy In Their “Home Sweet Home”

Upon arriving at the house, the family’s initial reaction was overwhelmingly positive. Anthony joyfully announced, “We are home, Benjamin!” as they entered.

Manon recalled the moment they first visited and decided to buy, saying Anthony’s eyes were “sparkling” with love for the property. She described the house as huge with large land, even joking about getting goats. Seeing his happiness convinced her to sign the papers immediately.

In her confessional from their new home, Manon struck a determined and more optimistic note.

“Finally we are here in our home sweet home… I am going to make it work, and I am going to make it mine,” she stated.

This move to the French countryside is the latest chapter for the couple, who originally lived in Los Angeles. They decided to move to France in an effort to save their marriage after the pressures of the “American dream” became too much.

The episode featuring the move is Season 7, Episode 18 of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. New episodes air on Mondays at 8:00 p.m. ET on TLC and are available to stream on Max.
