Blue Lock Live-Action Movie Release Date and Production Details

The Blue Lock live-action movie will hit Japanese theaters on August 7, 2026. The film is produced by CREDEUS, the studio behind successful live-action adaptations of Golden Kamuy and Kingdom. TOHO handles distribution.

The movie adapts the Shin Eiyū Taisen arc, also known as the New Heroes War, from the original manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura.

The original Blue Lock manga, serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine, follows Yoichi Isagi, a high school forward who joins a radical training program. The Blue Lock Project, created by the Japan Football Union, gathers 300 young strikers to compete in a survival-style competition. Only one emerges as the striker who can lead Japan to World Cup victory.

The live-action movie has generated significant online discussion. The casting of K and Tsuna, both with existing fan bases from music and drama work, has drawn attention from both anime followers and general entertainment audiences.

Tsuna Keito Background and Recent Work

Keito Tsuna started his acting career in 2018 with the drama “Bungaku Shojo” (Literature Girl). He gained early recognition playing Jin / Ryusoul Blue in the 2019 Super Sentai series “Kishiryu Sentai Ryusoulger”.

In 2017, Tsuna won the 30th JUNON SUPER BOY contest, becoming the first contestant to win after coming through the losers’ bracket.

His recent film work includes “True Beauty: Before” (March 2025) and “True Beauty: After” (May 2025), where he played Igarashi Haruka. He also appears in “WIND BREAKER” releasing December 2025 and “Kyoiku Gakuen” set for 2026.

Tsuna stands 176 cm tall and is represented by Watanabe Entertainment.

The Blue Lock franchise has grown into a major property since the manga launched. An anime adaptation aired in 2022-2023, followed by the spin-off film “Blue Lock: Episode Nagi” in 2024, which focused on Nagi and Reo’s backstory. That film is available on Crunchyroll.

The live-action movie continues the franchise expansion into different media formats. The character visuals released for both Nagi and Reo show the actors in costume, giving fans a look at how the live-action version will interpret the characters’ distinctive looks.
