What the Plot Will Probably Cover
The live-action movie is expected to take on the first major arc of the manga. This matches the events of Season 1 of the anime. The story begins after Japan loses in the 2018 World Cup round of 16. The Japan Football Union brings in Jinpachi Ego, an unusual and harsh strategist, to create a new training program. He calls it Blue Lock.
Three hundred young forwards enter a closed facility. They must compete against each other in brutal matches. The rules are simple. Score goals and survive. Lose and you are banned from the national team forever. Yoichi Isagi enters as an unknown player with average skills. But inside Blue Lock, he starts to discover his true talent. He learns to be selfish. He learns to chase victory at any cost.
The cast includes players from multiple teams. This means the movie will likely show the inter-team tournament. Team Z, the underdogs, will face off against Team V, Team X, Team Y, and Team W. Each match pushes Isagi and his teammates closer to their breaking points. The rivalry with Shoei Barou and the strange friendship with Seishiro Nagi will probably be major parts of the story.
The manga has sold over 50 million copies. The animeโs first season ran from October 2022 to March 2023. The second season aired from October to December 2024. A sequel anime has also been confirmed.
