The gloves are off in Rutshire, and the wait for the next round of drama is almost over. Disney+ has dropped the first three episodes of Rivals Season 2, and the show has already picked up right where the chaotic first season left off. Fans have been catching up with the fierce battle between David Tennantโs Tony Baddingham and Alex Hassellโs Rupert Campbell-Black. Now, with major secrets exposed and careers crumbling, viewers are eager to see what happens next when the show returns this week.
The new season is bigger than the last, with a total of 12 episodes planned. However, the streaming service is breaking the season into two parts. The first six episodes are rolling out now, while the final half will arrive later in 2026.
Mark Your Calendars For May 22
Rivals Season 2 Episode 4 is scheduled to release on Friday, May 22, 2026.
For viewers in the United Kingdom, the episode will land on Disney+ at 8:00 AM BST. If you are watching from the United States, you can catch it on Hulu (or Disney+ via the Hulu hub) starting at 12:00 AM PT / 3:00 AM ET. In India, the series is streaming on JioHotstar at the same time.
Australia and Canada viewers will also get the episode on Disney+ on the same date, keeping in line with the global rollout schedule.
A Shift To Weekly Episodes
While the premiere gave fans a three-episode feast, the strategy is changing for the rest of this block. Following the standard “one-a-week” model, Episode 4 will be followed by Episode 5 on May 29, and Episode 6 on June 5. This means fans have a few weeks to digest the intense betrayals and power plays before the season takes a break ahead of the final six episodes.
What To Expect In Episode 4: Freddy And Lizzie Heat Up
The end of Episode 3 left Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell) in a state of ruin. After a leaked tape exposed his past, he lost his political career and was booted off the Venturer board. Episode 4 will likely focus on the messy aftermath of his downfall. Meanwhile, Cameron Cook is expected to try and help Rupert pick up the pieces, while Declan OโHara (Aidan Turner) faces trouble at home as his wife Maud gets tangled in Tonyโs schemes.
However, one of the most talked-about storylines involves the unlikely romance between Freddie Jones (Danny Dyer) and Lizzie (Katherine Parkinson). According to the actors themselves, their relationship is about to take a big step forward.
Danny Dyer told Digital Spy: “[In episode 4, Freddie and Lizzie] go up a gear. Itโs a revelation isnโt it Katherine? Weโre very happy people are buying into it.”
Katherine Parkinson added that she was surprised by how much fans connected with the duo, noting that their scenes together have a special spark. The pair also teased a funnyโand very exposedโscene involving a lot of running, which Dyer joked viewers might not want to see.
