The blood-soaked, superhero-smashing world of The Boys has officially come to a close. Prime Video aired the final episode of Season 5 on May 20, 2026, titled “Blood and Bone,” leaving fans asking one big question: What about Season 6?
The answer is direct. There will be no The Boys Season 6. Showrunner Eric Kripke always planned for the series to run for five seasons. He stuck to his original idea, even when Amazon wanted more episodes.
Why Amazon Won’t Make A Sixth Season
The decision to stop comes from the top. Eric Kripke designed the show around the final fight between Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Antony Starr). Once that story ends, the show ends.
Amazon executives wanted to keep the hit series going. They asked Kripke to consider a sixth season. But Kripke refused. He told the SFX Magazine that he kept reminding Amazon: “It will be five seasons.”

Kripke believes five seasons is the perfect length for a TV show. He said it gives enough time to explore the characters but does not drag on so long that viewers lose interest.
The Final Season: What Happened In The End
The Boys Season 5 premiered on April 8, 2026, with two episodes. The show followed a weekly schedule until the finale on May 20.
The last episode wrapped up everything. Homelander lost his powers and died. Billy Butcher also met his end. Other major characters like Frenchie and The Deep did not survive either.
Season 5 broke viewership records. Prime Video reported that over 55 million people watched the final season.

The Boys: Mexico is another project. It moves the action to Mexico. Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna are set as producers. The tone will be different from the main show.
Gen V, the college spin-off, ended after two seasons. Amazon decided not to continue that series.
