The fifth and final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan arrives on Starz on June 12, 2026 . The show picks up after a shocking season 4 finale that left fans with many questions. Season 4 changed everything for Kanan Stark and his family. Before you watch the new episodes, here is a complete recap of the most important events from season 4.
Unique Returns and Brings Major Problems for Raq
Joey Bada$$ returned as Unique in the season 3 finale. In season 4, he became a bigger threat to Raq Thomas. He survived being left for dead by his brother Ronnie. His return created serious danger for Raq and her drug business.
Unique told Raq that Kanan asked to team up with him. This news shook Raq deeply. She realized her own son was turning against her. Unique also shared details of his short affair with Raq to her brother Lou. He wanted to destroy every relationship Raq had. He gave a direct threat: “I’m making your whole world fall apart around you, b—-. And when I’m done, ain’t gonna be nothing left.”
Famous and Krystal: Two Shocking Deaths
Season 4 revealed the fate of two important people in Kanan’s life. Antonio Ortiz played Famous, Kanan’s best friend. He had been missing since season 3. The police found his body and confirmed he was dead. He had been tortured before his murder. Snaps and Pop ordered the killing.
The finale brought another death. Aliyah Turner played Krystal, Kanan’s girlfriend. Pop killed her as well. The police told Kanan that a Black woman was seen leaving Krystal’s apartment after the murder. Kanan immediately believed his mother Raq was behind it.
Stefano Gets Stabbed and the Mob War Begins
Tony Danza played Stefano, the New Jersey mob boss. He told Marvin that working with Raq was the “worst decision” he ever made. His rival Phil Russo was not happy with their partnership.
Paul Ben-Victor played Phil Russo. He stabbed Stefano in the chest and left him bleeding on the floor. Stefano survived the attack. Russo later told Unique to “do whatever the f—” he needed to do against Raq. He knew Stefano would come after him for the stabbing.
Breeze Finally Arrives in the Show
Fans of the original Power series have waited years to see Breeze. He is the character who trained Kanan and also taught Ghost and Tommy. Season 4 finally introduced him.
Snaps and Pop told Kanan they wanted to do business with him and Unique. They then introduced their nephew Branford. Kanan learned that Branford is actually Breeze. Shameik Moore played the role. This meeting sets up a major storyline for season 5.
Kanan Confronts Raq With a Gun
The final episode of season 4 was the most intense one yet. Kanan became convinced that Raq killed Famous, Krystal and even his own father. Hailey Kilgore played Jukebox, Kanan’s cousin. She tried to warn Raq that Kanan was coming. But Raq did not listen.
Jukebox told Raq: “Just ’cause I wasn’t saying s—-, doesn’t mean I wasn’t thinking s—-. Just ’cause you didn’t see me, didn’t mean I didn’t see you. I saw you — maybe even better than anybody.”
Kanan went to his grandmother’s grave to ask for forgiveness. Then he went to Raq’s house with a gun. He pointed it at his mother and asked: “Why’d you kill her?” Raq swore on Kanan’s life that she was innocent.
“I’m done making excuses for you and for me. Tonight I’m gonna do what I should’ve done.” – Kanan to Raq
Kanan did not believe her. He said: “You don’t want me to have nobody but you. You want me all to your f—— self. That’s why you killed them all. Fame, Krystal, even my own f—— father. That’s why I gotta do this right now. So you can’t take nobody else away from me.”
Raq closed her eyes. The screen went black. A single gunshot was heard. The season ended without showing if Kanan actually killed his mother.
