What Happened Previously

Season 2 picks up directly after the events of the first season. Arc, the protagonist who woke up in another world trapped in the body of his skeletal MMORPG avatar, continues his journey with his companions Ariane (a dark elf warrior), Chiyome (a beastman ninja), and Ponta (a small flying creature).

The group is traveling toward the Wind Dragon Mountains, where a legendary spring is said to exist that may lift Arc’s curse and restore his human body.

In the earlier episodes of season 2, Arc and his party encountered merchants being attacked by beasts controlled by strange mechanical collars. They discovered that these beasts were being manipulated by a rogue elven faction. Arc has been working to free oppressed elves and other creatures while fighting against the forces of Count Hilk, a major antagonist from the first season.

Episode 3, which aired on July 18, 2026, featured the fall of villains and continued the group’s mission to dismantle the elf slave trade. The story is moving toward a confrontation with those who profit from slavery and oppression.

About the Series

Skeleton Knight in Another World is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Ennki Hakari and illustrated by KeG. The novels began serialization online in October 2014 and have sold over 3.5 million copies in Japan.

The story follows a gamer who falls asleep while playing an MMORPG and wakes up in the game world inside his avatar’s body. However, his avatar uses a special Skeleton skin, leaving him trapped in a skeletal form. Despite his frightening appearance, Arc is a kind-hearted person who cannot ignore people in trouble. He decides to live as a mercenary while searching for a way to break his curse.

The first season aired from April to June 2022. Production of the second season was announced in December 2024.

Katsumi Ono returns as director for the second season, with Aura Studio handling animation production. Toshizo Nemoto, known for his work on That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, is in charge of series scripts. Toru Imanishi serves as character designer.
