Content creator and actress Shreya Kalra lifted the Lock Upp Season 2 trophy on August 5, 2026, but she is already putting an end to speculation about her next reality TV move. Fans have been asking if she will join Salman Khan‘s Bigg Boss 20, but Shreya has made it clear that she has no plans to enter another reality show as a contestant anytime soon.
The winner shared her thoughts on her Instagram channel, Clock It With Shreya, where she addressed the constant questions about her possible participation in Bigg Boss 20. Her response was blunt and honest.
“Doston, jo mujhse puch raha hai main Bigg Boss jaungi ki nahi- Main just abhi ek pagalkhane se nikal ke aayi hoon. I am not planning to do any reality show as a contestant right now because it was mentally exhausting and very taxing. So no Bigg Boss for me”.
Shreya Kalra Opens Up About the Mental Toll of Lock Upp 2
Shreya Kalra did not hold back when describing her experience inside the Lock Upp house. She called the journey “mentally exhausting” and said it took a heavy toll on her. The actress admitted that the pressure of being inside a captive reality show for six weeks was overwhelming.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Shreya talked about feeling cornered by other contestants. She revealed that there were moments when she wanted to leave the show.
“It was mentally very exhausting. I had to shout multiple times that I had done nothing wrong, and when I did make a mistake, I apologised to people. I am not some goddess, I accept my mistakes on the show”.
She also spoke about how other contestants would gang up against her. “Achanak se sab ekdum jhund mein aa jaate thhe. Main kehna bhi nahi chahti thi but it was bullying to a certain point,” she said. Shreya explained that she could handle fights with individuals, but when everyone came at her together, it became too much to handle.
From Villain to Winner: Shreya Kalra’s Lock Upp 2 Journey
Shreya Kalra started her Lock Upp 2 journey as the show’s villain. From day one, she picked fights with almost every contestant and made only two friends in the house. One of those friends was later evicted by her, and the other was Shilpa Shinde, who finished in fourth place.
Despite the constant conflicts, Shreya excelled in several tasks on the show. The hosts praised her for “carrying the game on her shoulders” and for bringing out strong reactions from other housemates. Her strategy of playing aggressively and staying true to herself eventually paid off.
She defeated Shivangi Joshi, who became the first runner-up, and Yogesh Rawat, who secured the second runner-up position. Shilpa Shinde and Ram Kapoor were also strong contenders but were evicted before the finale.
Shreya walked away with the Lock Upp Season 2 trophy and a cash prize of ₹1 crore. Reacting to her win, she shared an emotional post on social media.
“This trophy carries every sacrifice, every tear, every fight, every comeback and every moment when I chose to keep going. I came to play my game, I stayed true to myself, and today… I leave as the winner”.
What Shreya Kalra Plans to Do With the ₹1 Crore Prize Money
Shreya Kalra has already decided how she will use her prize money. During a media interaction after winning the show, she revealed that she is not interested in luxury items.
“Look, I don’t believe in luxury items. Nor do I like cars so much. I like to buy gifts, and I like to give gifts, but I am not into such luxury items”.
Instead, Shreya plans to support Shilpa Shinde‘s shelter home. “One thing I have thought is that I will help Shilpa ji for her shelter home, whatever I can do,” she said. She also intends to invest the money wisely. “I will try to invest this money in a property, so that I get a return. Because I am Sindhi, and my business mind is very strong”.
No Bigg Boss 20, But Open to Hosting or Mentoring
While Shreya Kalra has ruled out participating in Bigg Boss 20 as a contestant, she has not closed the door on reality television completely. She expressed interest in taking on different roles in the future.
“If there’s an opportunity to host, mentor, or become a gang leader, then I’ll definitely be excited. Maza aajayega agar aisa kuch hogaya tha. But contestant? No bro, too much to take in”.
This statement shows that Shreya is open to returning to reality TV, but only in a capacity that does not require her to go through the intense experience of competing inside a house again.
Bigg Boss 20 Premiere Date and What to Expect
While Shreya Kalra will not be part of Bigg Boss 20, the show is still generating plenty of buzz. The Salman Khan-hosted reality show is set to premiere on September 6, 2026. It will stream on JioHotstar at 9:00 PM and air on Colors TV at 10:30 PM.
The official contestant lineup has not been announced yet, but some names have been rumored to participate. These include Nia Sharma, Arjun Bijlani, Karan Patel, and Jannat Zubair. This is not the first time Nia and Arjun have been linked to the show, but fans will have to wait and see if they finally enter the house.
The teaser for Bigg Boss 20 hints at a unique theme. In the first promo, Salman Khan made a grand entry on a horse and said, “Joh Karan Arjun mein hua tha, woh hoga ab Bigg Boss mein… Thathastu!”. The second promo revealed that every contestant will be given a “vardaan” or boon. These hints have created considerable excitement among fans.
