Amitabh Bachchan, one of Indian cinema’s most respected actors, has shared details about his current work schedule. The 83-year-old star recently told his followers that he has been working continuous 24-hour shifts. In a blog post, he admitted that his food and sleep have taken a backseat because of the intense workload.

Bachchan, who frequently uses his Tumblr account to connect with fans, wrote an honest post about his recent work days. He apologised for not being able to post regularly. The actor explained that his work hours stretched from 7 am in the morning to almost 7 am the next day.

“Apologies for this weird numbering and the missed Blogs. The work hours and the intensity of work just did not give me time to get to connect, so am extremely sorry!!! Work hours were stretching from 7am in the morning to almost 7 am the next day. Days of 24 hrs work. Commitments are commitments and must have preference over any other. Time, sleep, food et al.”

The veteran actor made it clear that professional commitments come before everything else in his life. He wrote that “commitments are commitments” and they must have preference over anything else, including time, sleep, and food.

The 24-Hour Shift for KBC 18

Bachchan completed a gruelling 24-hour work shift ahead of the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) . In an earlier blog post dated August 5, he gave a more detailed account of what the shoot demanded. He wrote that he finished work at 7 am in the morning after starting at 7 am the previous day.

The actor explained why the long hours were necessary. The premiere date for KBC Season 18 had already been announced, and there was no room for delays. He wrote that missing the broadcast date would mean “a job replacement” for him.

After finishing the marathon session, Bachchan said he planned to get some rest before returning to work the very next day. He wrote:

“I shall retire now, get some food in the belly, hit a pillow for a while, for tomorrow the 6th August is another early call.”

KBC Season 18 Premiere Details

Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 premieres on Monday, August 10, at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV. The show will air new episodes from Monday to Friday.

The new season is built around the theme ‘Sochna Padega’. According to the makers, the theme reflects a simple but powerful idea. In an age where knowledge is easily available, the advantage belongs to those who can interpret, connect, and apply what they know.

The first episode of KBC 18 will feature special guests. Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, and Preity Zinta will appear on the show to promote their new film Batwara 1947, which releases in theatres on August 14.

Bachchan’s Long Association with KBC

Amitabh Bachchan has hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati since its first season premiered on July 3, 2000. The show changed Indian television when it first aired on Star Plus. It drew record viewership and turned the “hot seat” and Bachchan’s catchphrase “lock kiya jaaye” into cultural moments.

The only break in his hosting run came during Season 3, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. Every other season, from 1 through 17 and now 18, has had Bachchan in the host’s chair. The show is now closely identified with him, much like his most iconic film roles.

Work and Health Balance

This is not the first time Bachchan has spoken about the importance of work in his life. In a post shared earlier this year, he said that whenever he does not work for a day, his daily routine gets disrupted, which makes him anxious.

“A day that spelt ‘lazy’ … no reason whatsoever … just it seems disturbing to not be working each day … and when you do not work each day according to a schedule … the entire process of habit forming that pre seeded … the day suddenly becomes a mystery of deeds, which normally would have worked in perfect unison.”

After completing the 24-hour work session, Bachchan mentioned that he was taking a break as KBC 18 starts. He wrote that he would return to his regular blogging routine and reorganise his system.

“But a break today as KBC 18th season with Sony does a start .. and on can only pray .. and pray .. I shall be with you in the regularity as before .. but let me organise , or rather let me re organise my system and we shall be in correct connect ..my love and my admiration.”

Recent Film Work

On the film front, Bachchan was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film also starred Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan in lead roles. Bachchan’s performance as Ashwatthama in the sci-fi drama won praise from audiences and critics.
