TVING has released the first teaser for its upcoming original series “The Ordinary Jackpot,” starring Lee Jun Hyuk. The teaser shows the actor playing a regular office worker who wins the lottery but chooses to keep showing up at his job instead of quitting. The drama is set to premiere on September 10, 2026.
The teaser poster and trailer came out on August 12, 2026 and have already caught the attention of viewers who find the premise both funny and easy to relate to. The poster shows a first-place lottery ticket placed next to a regular employee ID card with the words “Going to work instead of quitting!”.
The Story Behind “The Ordinary Jackpot”
“The Ordinary Jackpot” is based on a popular web novel of the same name written by Seo In Ha, which was published from 2019 to 2020. The series has also been adapted into a webtoon ahead of its drama release.
The drama follows Gong Eun Tae (played by Lee Jun Hyuk), the head of Sales Team 5 at Hongsung International. He is described as a hardworking employee who has spent years being pushed around by bosses above him and colleagues below him. His daily routine involves fighting through crowded subways, arriving early, and enduring a thankless job just to keep his life steady.
One day, everything changes when Gong Eun Tae wins the first prize in the lottery – a total of 1.3 billion won (approximately $918,000 USD). While this is a life-changing amount of money, the drama points out that it is not quite enough to completely transform his life overnight.
Instead of handing in his resignation letter, Gong Eun Tae decides to go back to work the very next day. But this time, he carries a completely different mindset. The money gives him a psychological safety net, and he starts seeing his job and the people around him in a new light.
What the Teaser Shows
The teaser trailer gives viewers a clear look at Gong Eun Tae’s exhausting daily life before the lottery win. He is seen dealing with the crowded “hell-subway,” arriving at work earlier than everyone else, and still getting treated poorly by both higher-ups and subordinates.
But after winning the 1.3 billion won prize, his attitude shifts completely. In one of the most talked-about moments from the teaser, Lee Jun Hyuk looks at the camera with sparkling eyes and declares, “I’m going to turn this company upside down.”
“I’ve lived without being able to get angry. This may be the last chance my life is giving me.”
The trailer also includes dialogue where Gong Eun Tae counts up to 1.3 billion won and says, “Lotto is about my life that I couldn’t get angry about”. Another line from the teaser shows his new confident attitude: “If they make an unreasonable demand, don’t have to accept.”
The teaser ends with Lee Jun Hyuk saying, “Let’s make some noise in this office!” which has already become a memorable moment for fans.
The Cast and Their Roles
Lee Jun Hyuk takes on the lead role of Gong Eun Tae. He is the youngest team leader at his company, which means he constantly gets caught in the middle between senior bosses and junior staff. He has worked hard to avoid any trouble and keep his life ordinary, but the lottery win gives him the confidence to start standing up for himself.
Joining Lee Jun Hyuk are two other well-known actors:
- Seo Hyun Woo plays Yang Jun Ho, an assistant manager on Sales Team 5. His character joined the company one year before Gong Eun Tae but was passed over for promotion when Gong Eun Tae became team leader. This created tension between them, but the lottery win changes their dynamic.
- Oh Dae Hwan plays Jung Sun Hyuk, the head of Sales Team 4, which is a rival team to Gong Eun Tae’s.
The drama is directed and written by Yoon Young Bin, who previously directed the film “Tomb of the River”.
