The anime, which started airing on July 6, 2026, has gained attention for its relaxed vibe and mouth-watering food scenes. Episode 8 Recap: Trouble at the Volcanic Hot Spring
Episode 8, which aired on August 24, 2026, continued the group’s journey toward the royal capital. The episode was set in the volcanic hot spring town of Melrow (also spelled Merlowa), where the party stopped because of a request from Tori.
The group planned to enjoy the local specialty dishes, but trouble at the volcano got in the way of their meal plans. They were looking forward to Merlowa’s famous spring salt, but unfortunately, they were drawn into a local crisis.
Episode 7, which aired on August 17, 2026, was titled “Trout Fishing in Another World!With a Side of Hot Oni”. The episode opened with Rin fishing in a lake when she spotted an adventurer floating down the river. She pulled him out of the water, and what started as a strange encounter turned into a memorable meal shared between two unlikely companions.
By Episode 2, Rin had been invited to join an adventurer party called “The Table of Gluttony” as their cook, with members Vil, Aria, Ed, and Senon warmly welcoming her. The group has been taking on requests and enjoying gourmet meals across the fantasy world ever since.
What to Expect in Episode 9
A preview for episode 9 was released on August 28, 2026, giving viewers a glimpse of what is coming. While specific plot details remain under wraps, the series has consistently delivered a mix of mouth-watering cooking scenes, character bonding moments, and the underlying mystery of why Rin was truly summoned to this world.
The show balances its gourmet food focus with hints of a larger conspiracy. The light novel series, which began in 2019 and has six volumes so far, gradually introduces a saintess conspiracy plot that runs beneath the surface of Rin’s peaceful journey.

About the Series
The Forsaken Saintess and her Foodie Roadtrip in Another World is based on the light novel series by author Yoneori and illustrator Akane Nitou. The series began in 2019 and saw Kadokawa bring it out in 2020 with artwork by Nitou, where there are six volumes so far. A manga adaptation by Nanan Kogami began in 2020 and has four volumes so far.
The story follows Rin Takanashi, a caregiver in her late twenties who gets summoned to another world to serve as a saintess. But instead of being celebrated, she is immediately discarded as “trash” because the kingdom decides her skills are worthless. Rin possesses two special abilities: a Survival skill that helps her identify edible items in the wild, and a unique skill that lets her summon a fully-equipped modern camper van she calls “Mochan”. Rather than wallow in self-pity, she decides to embrace her love of camping and cooking, setting off on a solo foodie roadtrip across the fantasy world.
