Chad Powers is back for its second season, and the South Georgia Catfish are ready to take the field again. Glen Powell plays two roles in the series: Russ Holliday, a disgraced former college quarterback, and his alter ego Chad Powers. Russ was once a promising football star, but his ego and impulsive behavior ruined his career and NFL dreams. To get back on the field, he creates the Chad Powers persona, complete with prosthetics, a wig, and a fake Southern accent. Chad is the opposite of Russ, enthusiastic, supportive, and loveably dim-witted.
Powell is known for his work in Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters, Anyone But You, and Hit Man. He also co-created the series with Michael Waldron and serves as an executive producer. His performance in the first season earned him a Golden Globe nomination.
Perry Mattfeld as Coach Ricky Hudson
Perry Mattfeld returns as Ricky Hudson, the Offensive Assistant Coach for the South Georgia Catfish. Ricky is the daughter of Head Coach Jake Hudson and is determined to prove herself in college football without relying on her father’s name. She and Chad begin working together when they find themselves stuck on the sidelines. By the end of Season 1, Ricky discovers Chad’s true identity. Season 2 will explore how their relationship evolves now that the secret is out.
Mattfeld is best known for her lead role as Murphy Mason in In the Dark, and she has also appeared in Shameless and The Idea of You.
Steve Zahn as Coach Jake Hudson
Steve Zahn plays Coach Jake Hudson, the head coach of the struggling South Georgia Catfish. He has been trying to keep the team going through years of bad results. Chad gives Jake hope for the first time in a long while. But in Season 2, Jake starts to suspect that his star quarterback is hiding something, and the walls begin to close in on Russ’s lie.
Zahn is a well-known actor with a long list of credits, including War for the Planet of the Apes, Rescue Dawn, That Thing You Do!, and Joy Ride.
Colton Ryan as Gerry Dougan
Colton Ryan plays Gerry Dougan, the backup quarterback who lost his spot to Chad. Gerry is fierce and does not like Chad. In Season 2, he has a bigger role as he starts to feel that something is odd about Chad and his personal life. He may be the one who figures out the secret.

Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny Cruz
Frankie A. Rodriguez plays Danny, a character who helps Russ keep his new identity a secret. Danny assists with fixing the disguise and gives advice to Russ. He is one of the few people who knows the truth about Chad.
Rodriguez is best known for playing Carlos in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He has also appeared in Modern Family and Only Children.
Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd
Quentin Plair returns as Coach Byrd, another member of the Catfish coaching staff. Plair’s previous work includes Tiny Beautiful Things, Not Without Hope, and Genius.
Wynn Everett as Tricia Yeager
Wynn Everett is back as Tricia Yeager, a character who is part of the South Georgia Catfish world. Everett has been a steady presence in the series since Season 1.
New Guest Stars Joining Season 2
Four new guest stars have joined the cast for Season 2.
Gillian Jacobs, known for her role as Britta in Community, joins the cast in a guest starring role. Colin Woodell, who starred in Pulse, also joins. Writer-comedian Carey O’Donnell and Nate Varrone, who appeared in The Bear, round out the new additions.
