The countdown to Bigg Boss 20 has started, and Salman Khan is all set to return as the host. While the show usually features television actors and celebrities, this season might bring in someone unexpected. YouTuber Nitish Rajput is reportedly in talks to enter the Bigg Boss 20 house. The news has created quite a buzz because Rajput is not a typical reality show face. He is known for his serious, research-based videos on politics, history, and social issues. He also carries a rather interesting background—his YouTube channel was blocked in Pakistan in 2025.
Who is Nitish Rajput?
Nitish Rajput is an Indian YouTuber, educator, and digital creator. He was born on October 4, 1989, in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and grew up in Rudrapur, Uttarakhand. He holds a B.Tech degree in Information Technology from Gautam Buddha University. Before becoming a full-time content creator, Rajput worked at an IT company.
He started his YouTube channel in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown. Instead of making entertainment videos, Rajput focused on creating detailed, research-driven content. He makes long-form documentary-style videos on subjects like governance, current affairs, history, and social issues. His calm storytelling and logical presentation style quickly found a large audience.
Today, his YouTube channel has more than 8.5 million subscribers. Some of his most popular videos include analyses of the Aryan Khan case, the Odisha train tragedy, and the Amritpal Singh case. He also published a book titled The Broken Pillars of Democracy in 2022.
His work has even received praise from Bollywood actor John Abraham. In 2024, Abraham appeared on a podcast and said:
“He is fantastic. Whatever he says is written somewhere… I think he’s very educated. Hats off to you Nitish, keep up the good work.”
Why Was Nitish Rajput Banned in Pakistan?
Nitish Rajput made headlines in May 2025 when he claimed that his YouTube channel had been blocked in Pakistan. The restriction came after he posted a video about Balochistan. The video was made during a period of heightened India-Pakistan conflict.
Rajput shared screenshots on social media showing that the block followed a legal complaint from the Pakistani government. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“On 10th May at 10.30 AM, the Pakistani government raised legal complaint & blocked my YouTube channel and that became a badge of honour.”
He also noted that within hours of the ban, his channel crossed 7 million subscribers thanks to the support of Indian viewers.
The SSC Controversy and Defamation Case
In February 2026, Nitish Rajput found himself in another controversy. He uploaded a video about the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) examination system. The video questioned examination procedures, vendor selection, and tender processes.
The video went viral and sparked a huge debate among exam aspirants. However, Eduquity Technologies Pvt. Ltd. , a company that conducts SSC exams, filed a Rs 2.5 crore defamation suit against Rajput in the Delhi High Court. The company claimed that the video contained misleading information that damaged its reputation.
Rajput has maintained that his analysis was based entirely on publicly available documents and RTI (Right to Information) responses.
Is Nitish Rajput Entering Bigg Boss 20?
The 20th season of Bigg Boss is set to premiere on September 6, 2026. The show will air on Colors TV and stream on JioHotstar. According to reports, the streaming premiere is at 9 pm, while the television telecast is at 10:30 pm.
Salman Khan is returning as the host. The trailer for the new season introduced a new twist called ‘Extra Jeevan Daan’.
Nitish Rajput is reportedly among the names being considered as a confirmed contestant. According to a report by Bigg Boss Tak, his discussions with the show’s makers are in the final stage. However, neither Rajput nor the show’s producers have officially confirmed his participation.
If he enters the Bigg Boss 20 house, it will mark his television debut. It would be a big change for someone who usually sits behind a camera and researches serious topics.
