An Yu-jin, the leader of K-pop group IVE, will take part in the group’s upcoming Hong Kong concerts but without performing any dance routines. Her agency STARSHIP Entertainment announced this decision on September 4, 2026. The move comes after she suffered a knee injury. The agency wants to prevent further damage and allow her to recover properly.
The concerts are part of IVE’s “SHOW WHAT I AM” world tour. The Hong Kong shows are scheduled for September 4, 5, and 6. An Yu-jin will still appear on stage and sing. But she will not join the other members for the choreographed dance numbers.
Agency’s Official Statement
STARSHIP Entertainment released a formal statement on IVE’s official fan community platform. The agency explained the reason behind this decision.
“To prevent further aggravation of her knee injury and to prioritize her health and recovery, An Yu Jin will participate in the upcoming ‘SHOW WHAT I AM’ concert in Hong Kong without performing the choreography. We will continue to closely monitor the artist’s condition and make arrangements for her to participate in scheduled activities only to the extent that they do not place undue strain on her. We will do our utmost to support An Yu Jin so that she can make a full recovery and resume her activities in good health.”
The agency also asked fans for their understanding and support.
Previous Signs of Injury
This is not the first time An Yu-jin has had to limit her performances. On August 16, 2026, she took part in the Caribbean Bay Waterful Music Party. She felt discomfort in her knee during that event. She visited a hospital and received medical advice. The doctors recommended that she avoid dancing. She performed without choreography at that event as well.
Earlier in August, she also had to sit on a chair during a performance at the TIMA International Music Awards in Hong Kong. She sang songs like “Eleven,” “Love Dive,” “XOXZ,” and “Rebel Heart” while seated. This shows that her knee condition has been a concern for several weeks.
IVE’s Busy Schedule
IVE is in the middle of a demanding world tour. The “SHOW WHAT I AM” tour started in April with a show in Kuala Lumpur. Since then, the group has performed in Osaka, Manila, Singapore, Macao, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo, Toronto, Montreal, Newark, Austin, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Vancouver.
The group also released their second full-length album “REVIVE+” in February 2026. The album had two title tracks: “BANG BANG” and “BLACKHOLE”. This heavy schedule may have contributed to the wear and tear on her body.
Fan Reactions
Fans have shown concern for An Yu-jin’s health. Many have taken to social media to express their support. Some fans have also criticized the agency for what they see as an overloaded schedule. They believe the company should do more to protect the artists’ well-being.
Despite the criticism, most fans are relieved that An Yu-jin will still appear at the concerts. They appreciate that she will sing even if she cannot dance. Many have sent messages wishing her a quick recovery.

What This Means for the Concert
The Hong Kong concerts will go ahead as planned. The other five members of IVE – Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo – will perform the full choreography. An Yu-jin will join them on stage for the vocal parts. She will likely stand or sit in a designated spot while the others dance around her.
This kind of adjustment is common in the K-pop industry. Many groups have had members sit out dance routines due to injuries. The focus remains on the artist’s long-term health rather than one performance.
An Yu-jin, who is 23 years old, debuted through the survival show “PRODUCE 48” in 2018. She was a member of IZ*ONE before re-debuting with IVE in 2021. She is known for her skills in visuals, dance, and vocals. As the group’s leader, she carries a lot of responsibility.
The agency has promised to keep monitoring her condition. They said they will make sure she does not push herself too hard. Fans are hoping she can rest properly after the Hong Kong shows.
