The SBS drama “Flex X Cop 2” is keeping viewers on edge with new stills showing Yoo Seung Ho bringing former fromis_9 member Lee Sae Rom to his character’s studio. The images from the upcoming episode have fans guessing about what the sculptor really wants from his new model.
In season 2 of the popular series, Ahn Bo Hyun returns as Jin Yi Soo, a wealthy detective who uses his family money and connections to solve cases. Jung Eun Chae joins the cast as Joo Hye Ra, a veteran detective who becomes the new leader of Jin Yi Soo’s team.
Yoo Sung Won’s Dark Invitation
The new stills show Yoo Sung Won, played by Yoo Seung Ho, asking bartender Song Ah Reum, played by Lee Sae Rom, to become his model. He brings her to his studio, where one photo shows him standing on a tall ladder, pointing his camera down at Song Ah Reum lying on a table beneath him.
Another image captures Yoo Sung Won handing Song Ah Reum a glass of champagne with a chilling look in his eyes. The photos raise serious questions about his real intentions, especially after the disappearances of his previous models.
The tension is building because viewers already know that Joo Hye Ra suspects Yoo Sung Won of being behind a string of disappearances. She revealed this to Jin Yi Soo earlier in the season, putting him in a difficult position since he considers Yoo Sung Won like a younger brother.
Lee Sae Rom Steps Into Acting Role
This marks an important acting opportunity for Lee Sae Rom, who previously promoted as a member of the K-pop group fromis_9. On August 26, her agency 333 confirmed she would appear as Song Ah Reum, a beautiful bartender who gets connected to Yoo Sung Won’s character.
Her character becomes an important link in the investigation involving Jin Yi Soo and Joo Hye Ra. As Yoo Sung Won’s muse, Song Ah Reum is expected to show subtle emotional changes as the situation around her becomes more tense.
Lee Sae Rom left fromis_9 and later signed with agency 333 to focus more on her acting career. This drama gives her a chance to show her skills in a major SBS production.
Director Explains Yoo Seung Ho’s Big Role
Director Kim Jae Hong spoke about casting Yoo Seung Ho for this special appearance. He said the character Yoo Sung Won is “a layered character who plays a key role in the latter half of the story”.
“He’s a third-generation chaebol with wealth comparable to Jin Yi Soo’s and a world-renowned sculptor. Yoo Sung Won is also a mysterious figure whom Joo Hye Ra has long suspected, and he becomes central to the story in the second half of the series.”
The director also shared how Yoo Seung Ho got the role. He had previously worked with the actor on “My Strange Hero” and kept thinking the role would be difficult for anyone but Yoo Seung Ho. He reached out personally to offer the part.
The director joked that Yoo Seung Ho’s “special appearance” turned out to be more substantial than planned. The team originally wanted to keep him hidden until the middle of the series, but once filming started, they realized there was no way to hide his face. So they had him appear from the beginning.
Jin Yi Soo Faces Difficult Choice
The upcoming episode also shows Jin Yi Soo visiting Yoo Sung Won’s studio in person. New stills show the two friends sitting across from each other, holding glasses of whiskey. At first glance, it looks like an ordinary meeting between close friends, but the atmosphere is different.
Jin Yi Soo now has a wary look in his eyes, while Yoo Sung Won wears a smile that makes it hard to guess what he is thinking. Jin Yi Soo also visits Joo Hye Ra’s apartment to examine the evidence she has collected. Her walls are covered with clues, including photos of missing people and images of Yoo Sung Won’s sculptures.
The suspicion grew stronger when they learned that Yoo Sung Won’s models had also gone missing in the United Kingdom. For Jin Yi Soo, Yoo Sung Won is someone he has cherished as a younger brother for many years, making him hard to suspect. But as a detective, he cannot ignore the clues.
