The third season of Netflix’s live-action One Piece will have eight episodes, just like the first two seasons. That episode is written by Ashley Wigfield and directed by Christoph Schrewe.
Eight Episodes for Alabasta
Season 3 is officially titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta. Netflix confirmed the title and a 2027 release window in April 2026. The season adapts the Alabasta arc from Eiichiro Oda’s manga, covering chapters 155 to 217. This storyline follows Luffy and his crew as they travel to the desert kingdom of Alabasta to help Princess Vivi stop a civil war.
The season was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa. Production began in November 2025 and wrapped in June 2026. Each episode reportedly costs around $18 million, making it one of Netflix’s most expensive productions.

The season brings back Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Charithra Chandran returns as Vivi. Joe Manganiello plays the villain Crocodile. Lera Abova appears as Nico Robin. Mikaela Hoover voices Tony Tony Chopper. New additions include Xolo Maridueña as Portgas D. Ace and Cole Escola as Bon Clay.

Season 3 will stream worldwide on Netflix in 2027. This includes the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, India, and all other regions where Netflix operates. An exact release date has not been announced. The first two seasons are currently available for streaming. A Lego One Piece animated special arrives on September 29, 2026, retelling the events of the first two seasons. A separate Wit Studio anime remake is also in development.
