The Young and the Restless is set for a tense week from Monday, October 12 to Friday, October 16, 2026, as Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) returns to Genoa City, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) tightens his grip on Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) works hard to keep her secret affair with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) hidden from her family. The week also brings Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Sally Spectra‘s (Courtney Hope) wedding, along with a health scare for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Matt Clark Returns and Sneaks Into Sharon’s Home
The week YR opens with Nick and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) worrying about Matt Clark‘s next move. Matt had tried to leave town, but a car accident stopped him from making a final getaway. The crash left him taking a long look at himself and what his purpose in life is.
Detective Burrow (Matt Cohen) meets Nick and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) at Society to share an update. He tells them police found an empty vehicle about 100 miles south after a car accident. The fingerprints inside belonged to Matt Clark and Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk), but there were no bodies around.
Matt returns to Genoa City and sneaks into Sharon’s home. He watches her through the window while she is on the phone with Noah and Faith, then enters without permission and startles her. Sharon is forced to make a tough decision. The visitor is not welcome, and given their history, Sharon has every reason to be concerned.
“Cancer was supposed to be something that’s in my past. So why am I dealing with this again? Like, what did I do wrong?” — Lily Winters, on her health fears
Victor Holds Nick Accountable and Keeps Tabs on His Son
Victor Newman has had enough of Nick taking matters into his own hands. Nick’s determination to handle Matt Clark has already led to questionable decisions, including his confrontation with Joe following Marie’s (Jade Harlow) overdose.
Victor is keenly aware that his son is not going to get well on his own. Nick may be out of rehab, but he is far from getting a handle on his sobriety. He got quite good at lying to his family and friends about being on pain pills.
This week, Victor holds Nick accountable for his actions. He keeps tabs on his son, which may mean hiring a private investigator or summoning Detective Burrow to the ranch to do his bidding. Victor has been trying to protect Nick, but protecting his son and approving of his actions are two very different things.
Adam Newman also gets involved. On Wednesday, October 14, Adam grills Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about Arabesque while Victor secretly watches Nick. Nick’s behavior raises concerns.
Victoria Keeps Her Secret Affair Hidden From Nikki
Victoria Newman has already had one nightmare in which her father, Victor, showed up at her door, fully aware of her relationship with Kyle Abbott. In the dream, he blasted her for her actions, and Victoria was panic-stricken. Then she woke up.
This week, Victoria keeps her mother, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), in the dark about her activities. Victoria and Kyle have switched to code names on their phones so no one would see one calling the other if prying eyes were nearby.
Victoria takes their plan further by convincing Nikki to revive a rivalry with Jabot. She points to their exclusivity arrangement with Spectra-Charles as a reason to pursue other ways of generating attention for Vibrante. Nikki does not need much convincing. She admits she would enjoy putting Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) in her place.
For Nikki, the proposed rivalry is an opportunity to challenge a longtime adversary. For Victoria, it is something entirely different. She is encouraging her mother to believe she wants to defeat Kyle professionally while privately pursuing a relationship with him. The hostility Victoria intends to display toward Kyle is an act.
Victor stays one step ahead of Victoria. Whether she can outsmart her father remains to be seen, but Victoria has inherited genes that may give her the edge.
Billy and Sally’s Wedding Brings Drama and Familiar Faces
Billy Abbott and Sally Spectra tie the knot this week. The wedding begins on Friday, October 16, and continues through Monday, October 19. The couple goes with a Great Gatsby theme for their wedding.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) offers Billy some words of wisdom before the ceremony. Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) returns to Genoa City to celebrate the couple’s nuptials.
Sally wears a delicate white gown overlaid with swirling lace and featuring a dramatic diamond-shaped cutout. The dress was custom-made by Y&R’s Emmy-nominated costume designer, Mandi Line. Billy looks dashing in a matching white tuxedo shirt with black buttons and bowtie, wrapped in a cream-colored blazer.
Sally is nearly nine months pregnant with Billy’s child. Billy’s mother Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) is dealing with health challenges. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) serve as Sally’s bridesmaids. Sally’s controversial bridesmaid pick has already rocked Genoa City.
Jason Thompson recently spoke to TV Guide about a “pretty serious” wedding moment involving Jill. Billy also learns that Jill needs more medical tests and will miss his wedding.
Lily Winters Faces a Possible Cancer Return
Lily Winters has been worried that her cancer may have returned. She received inconclusive test results and has been frustrated by the uncertainty. She previously confided in Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and once again meets her cousin at Chancellor Park Cafe to seek advice.
Lily opened up about her fears, asking why she is dealing with this again. Nate tries to reassure her as she struggles with uncertainty about her health. He counsels her while she continues navigating the uncertainty surrounding her health. The bigger problem may be Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). Lily deliberately kept him in the dark, and his discovery that she had confided in other people instead of him exposed how little trust remains between them.
Lily has been selective about who gets to know what is happening. She shares her frustration with Nate, wondering what she did to deserve this. Nate does not have the answers she wants to hear. He sticks to the medical portion and tries to explain as best he can, but all they can do now is wait for more testing or develop a treatment plan.
Phyllis Summers Faces New Pressure
Phyllis Summers faces heat on Tuesday, October 13, as Nick’s lies begin to unravel. Victor secretly keeps tabs on Nick, and the tension builds.
On Wednesday, October 14, Adam Newman interrogates Phyllis about Arabesque. Victor made good on a promise to Phyllis in the October 5-9 stretch. Audra gave Adam and Billy an ultimatum whose fallout has not fully landed yet.
Phyllis announces that Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is joining her business as co-CEO. Daniel shares unexpected news with Phyllis during the October 12 episode.
