Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is moving fast. The enhanced remake, which began its run in Japan on October 11, 2026, is already preparing for its biggest moment yet. Episode 4, titled “The God of Saiyans,” is set to air on Sunday, November 1, 2026, and it will bring Goku‘s first step into divine power. The episode compresses key events from the original 2015 anime, including the summoning of Shenron and the Super Saiyan God ritual, into a single installment. For viewers outside Japan, the episode will roll out across Crunchyroll, Hulu, Disney+, and Netflix on a staggered schedule that stretches into the following week.
Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
Japanese audiences will see Episode 4 first. The episode is scheduled to air on Fuji Television on November 1, 2026, at 11:15 PM JST. That translates to 9:15 AM EST the same day for viewers tracking the Japanese broadcast online.
Crunchyroll will carry the episode with English subtitles a few hours after the Japanese airing, at approximately 12:00 PM EST on November 1 (or 9:00 AM Pacific). The series is available on Crunchyroll in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
Hulu will also stream Episode 4 on November 1, though the platform has not confirmed a specific time.
Disney+ viewers in select regions will get the episode on Wednesday, November 4.
Netflix will add the episode on Saturday, November 7, following the pattern established by earlier installments.
For viewers in Italy, Crunchyroll lists the subtitled version for 6:00 PM local time on November 1. Latin American audiences will see the episode on Crunchyroll on November 1, with Disney+ arriving on November 4 and Netflix on November 7.
The series has no confirmed English dub release date yet. If Dragon Ball Super: Beerus follows the pattern of Dragon Ball DAIMA, the English dub may not arrive until early 2027.
What Episode 4 Covers: Super Saiyan God and the Ritual
Episode 4 is a major turning point. The episode title, “The God of Saiyans,” points directly to the Super Saiyan God transformation, the legendary form that Beerus has been searching for since awakening from his long sleep.
The original Dragon Ball Super anime spread these events across multiple episodes. The remake’s tighter pacing will fold the Shenron summoning, the explanation of the Super Saiyan God ritual, and the transformation itself into a single installment. Shenron will explain that the Super Saiyan God is not a specific warrior but a transformation achieved when five pure-hearted Saiyans join hands and pour their energy into a sixth.
The ritual requires Vegeta, Gohan, Goten, and Trunks to lend their power to Goku. The group is one Saiyan short until Videl steps in, revealing that she is pregnant with Pan. Her unborn child completes the circle, allowing Goku to reach the divine form.
Beerus is waiting. The God of Destruction has grown impatient, and the ritual is the only thing standing between Earth and destruction. Episode 4 will deliver the first real clash between Goku in his Super Saiyan God form and Beerus, a fight that the remake has rebuilt with new animation and sound design.
A Faster Pacing Than the Original Anime
The remake’s approach to pacing has drawn attention. The original Dragon Ball Super took its time with the Beerus arc, but the enhanced edition is trimming what Toei Animation describes as “redundant legacy filler”. Episode 4 will cover material that originally spanned multiple episodes, moving the story toward the Super Saiyan God fight much sooner.
One Spanish-language report noted that Episode 4 may compress events from the original anime’s episodes 9, 10, and even parts of 11 into a single installment. That compression means viewers will see the Shenron summoning, the ritual, and the transformation in one sitting rather than across a full week of broadcasts.
The series is structured as a 19-episode run. The God of Destruction Beerus saga and the Golden Frieza saga will each take six episodes, with the Universe 6 Tournament arc filling the final seven. Following the weekly schedule, the final episode is set to arrive on February 14, 2027.
What Makes the Beerus Remake Different
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is not a simple re-airing. Toei Animation has rebuilt the series with new cuts of animation, revised existing scenes, a complete re-rendering of footage, newly recorded dubbing, and added sound effects. The project marks the studio’s 70th anniversary and the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise.
The remake has already made changes that long-time viewers have noticed. One of the most discussed revisions involves Vegeta‘s first confrontation with Beerus and his reaction to Bulma being caught in the middle. Reports indicate that the remake altered the scene, a choice that has split reactions among the fandom.
The visual style has also shifted. The new edition uses thicker outlines and a more cinematic look, drawing comparisons to the Dragon Ball Super: Broly film. Beerus himself has been portrayed with less goofiness and more composure, leaning into his role as a God of Destruction rather than a comic figure.
The Road to Episode 4
Episode 3, titled “The God of Destruction Heads to Earth,” aired on October 25, 2026. That installment followed Beerus and Whis as they traveled to Earth after Goku was knocked out on King Kai‘s planet. Bulma‘s birthday cruise provided the backdrop, with Beerus arriving in search of the Super Saiyan God.
Episode 4 picks up from that arrival, moving directly into the ritual and the transformation. Official preview material for the episode has been limited, with episode guides listing only the title and no full synopsis. The most reliable guide to the episode’s content comes from the original anime’s structure and the remake’s established pacing.
Voices Behind the Series
The Japanese voice cast remains unchanged. Masako Nozawa returns as Son Goku, and Koichi Yamadera voices Beerus. Both actors appeared at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event in January 2026, where the remake was officially announced.
