Guru Randhawa is set to become the first India-born artist to perform on the main stage of the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), one of the largest dance music festivals in the world. The Punjabi singer and songwriter will join two-time Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Steve Aoki during his headlining set on November 7, 2026, at EDC Orlando in Florida. The two artists will premiere the official remix of Randhawa’s hit track “Sirra” together, blending Punjabi pop melodies with high-energy electronic beats for a global audience.
The performance places Randhawa on a stage that has hosted some of the biggest names in electronic music. EDC Orlando runs from November 6 to 8 at Tinker Field, marking the festival’s 15th edition in Orlando. The event draws roughly 100,000 fans per day and features more than 100 artists across five stages, with headliners including David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alesso, Hardwell, and Kaskade.
A First for Indian Music on the EDC Main Stage
Randhawa’s appearance marks a clear milestone for Indian artists in the global dance music space. While Indian musicians have performed at international festivals before, no India-born artist has taken the main stage at EDC, a platform associated with the biggest names in electronic dance music. The Orlando edition alone is the most prominent East Coast dance festival in the United States, and its Las Vegas counterpart drew 500,000 fans last year.
The “Sirra” remix arrives through Warner Music India and is available now on major streaming platforms. The original track, taken from Randhawa’s album “Without Prejudice”, has accumulated 356 million cumulative streams and 550 million YouTube views to date.
Randhawa framed the performance as a chance to carry Indian sounds to a new audience.
“Representing India and our sound on the EDC mainstage is a massive honour. Steve Aoki and I have built something special with the Sirra remix that completely fuses two very distinct worlds. Before our massive homecoming stadium show hits New Delhi, I can’t wait to hit the EDC mainstage and unleash that Sirra energy.”
Aoki echoed the cross-cultural intent behind the collaboration.
“Electronic music is all about breaking boundaries and bridging cultures, so having Guru Randhawa join me on the EDC mainstage is incredible. I have some of my absolute fondest touring memories from India, and working on this Sirra remix together has been an amazing experience. November 7th is going to be unforgettable.”
What the ‘Sirra’ Remix Changes
The Steve Aoki remix takes Randhawa’s original Punjabi pop single and rebuilds it for festival main stages. The new version pairs the song’s melodic Punjabi vocals with stadium-sized electronic production, a shift that moves the track from streaming playlists into the kind of high-impact set Aoki is known for.
The original “Sirra” became one of Randhawa’s most commercially successful releases, entering top 20 charts in multiple markets and generating heavy social media traction. Its streaming and view counts place it among his most consumed tracks, and the remix gives the song a second life in a genre where Aoki has built a decades-long following.
The Song’s Legal Shadow and a Court Reprieve
“Sirra” also became the centre of a legal dispute over one of its lyrics. A complaint filed in a Ludhiana court alleged that a line in the song suggested sons of Jat families are given opium at birth, and argued that the lyric promoted drug culture and portrayed the Jat-Sikh community as narcotic users from birth.
In March 2026, the Punjab and Haryana High Court stayed criminal proceedings against Randhawa in the matter. The court noted that the lyric was intended metaphorically and artistically rather than to insult religious or community sentiments. The legal pause does not erase the controversy, but it allows the song’s commercial life — including the new Aoki remix — to continue without an active criminal trial.
Randhawa’s Longer Run of Global Collaborations
The EDC performance is not Randhawa’s first step outside the Indian music market. Over the past several years, he has built a catalogue of international collaborations that spans pop, Latin, hip-hop, and K-pop. His credits include:
- “Slowly Slowly” with Pitbull, a Billboard-charting hit
- “Mueve La Cintura” with Tito El Bambino
- “Vibe” featuring French Montana
- “Surma Surma” with Jay Sean
- “BOOMPALA” with K-pop group LE SSERAFIM
- “Addicted” alongside The Chainsmokers
- “Rich Life” featuring Rick Ross
That list makes him one of the most globally collaborative Punjabi artists active today. The Aoki remix adds a dedicated electronic dance music credit to a résumé that already crosses multiple genres and markets.
A Homecoming Stadium Show Waits in Delhi
The EDC set arrives weeks before Randhawa’s “Sirra Era Live in Concert” at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in New Delhi on December 12, 2026. The stadium show marks his return to live touring after a three-year hiatus and celebrates 13 years in the music industry.
For fans attending EDC Orlando on November 7, the Aoki set offers a preview of the scale Randhawa is planning for Delhi. The festival performance will merge Indian pop rhythms with Aoki’s electronic production, and the Delhi concert will expand that sound into a full stadium production.
