Off Campus is officially returning to Briar University. Prime Video has confirmed that Season 2 will premiere on April 28, 2027, with Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn taking over as the show’s new lead couple. The announcement arrived on November 5, 2026, through a short video featuring the two actors, and the new season will be available in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The switch marks a major shift for the hockey romance series. Season 1 focused on Hannah Wells (Ella Bright) and Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli). Season 2 will put Allie Hayes and Dean Di Laurentis at the center of the story, adapting the events of Elle Kennedy’s third Off Campus novel, The Score.
Release Date and Where to Watch
Off Campus Season 2 begins streaming on Wednesday, April 28, 2027, on Prime Video. The date is less than a year after Season 1 debuted on May 13, 2026. Prime Video has not confirmed a specific release time for Season 2, though the platform typically makes new seasons available at 12am PT / 3am ET on the premiere date.
The season will roll out globally in over 240 countries and territories, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and India. Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 monthly or $139 annually in the U.S., with discounted memberships for young adults.
A New Couple Takes the Lead
Allie Hayes is a theater student and Hannah’s best friend. Dean Di Laurentis is a wealthy, confident hockey player who shares a house with his teammates. Their romance began as a secret friends-with-benefits arrangement during Season 1, but the finale left things messy.
Showrunner Louisa Levy confirmed the couple switch in a statement shared with multiple outlets.
“We are so excited to continue Allie and Dean’s story as our primary romance of season 2 after kickstarting their romance in season 1,” Levy said. “But if you fell in love with Hannah and Garrett, don’t worry—they will still be an integral part of our robust ensemble.”
Mika Abdalla described the new season as a chance to restart the couple’s complicated dynamic.
“I think more than anything, it’s almost just a way to reset the clock a little bit,” Abdalla told People. “I think they’re flying a little too close to the sun right now.”
Stephen Kalyn previously told The Hollywood Reporter that watching Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli lead Season 1 taught him a lot.
“I was so grateful to learn from Ella and Belmont and watch those two great phenomenal actors lead season one,” Kalyn said.
What Happened at the End of Season 1
Season 1 ended with a major cliffhanger. Dean confessed his feelings for Allie, but she revealed she had slept with Hunter Davenport (Charlie Evans), a new hockey recruit Dean already disliked. The reveal led to a bar fight between Dean and Hunter.
The conflict also hinted at a deeper history. Hunter had a messy past connection to Dean’s sister, Summer Di Laurentis, which added another layer to Dean’s anger.
Season 2 will pick up after that blowout. The new episodes will follow Allie and Dean as they deal with the fallout, their trust issues, and the arrival of Hunter on the team. Charlie Evans returns as a guest star, so Hunter’s presence will still be felt.
The Book Change Explained
Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series follows a different couple in each book. The reading order is The Deal (Hannah and Garrett), The Mistake (Logan and Grace), The Score (Allie and Dean), The Goal, and The Legacy.
Season 1 adapted The Deal. Based on the books, Season 2 should have adapted The Mistake with John Logan (Antonio Cipriano) and Grace Ivers (India Fowler). Instead, the show moved straight to The Score.
Levy explained that Season 1 spent time building Allie and Dean’s connection in the background. By the time the finale arrived, their story had more momentum than a straight book-by-book adaptation would allow.
“Allie felt so organic, because she’s Hannah’s best friend and Dean is already there,” Levy told Variety.
Logan and Grace’s story is not being dropped. India Fowler joins the cast as Grace Ivers, and their romance will play out as a secondary storyline in Season 2.
Who Is Coming Back and Who Is New
Series regulars for Season 2 include Mika Abdalla, Stephen Kalyn, Ella Bright, Belmont Cameli, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks, and India Fowler.
Recurring cast includes Julia Sarah-Stone as Jules, Khobe Clarke as Beau Maxwell, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Phillipa Soo as a theater artist who guest-directs a play at Briar University.
Guest stars include Charlie Evans as Hunter Davenport and Shay Rudolph as Summer Di Laurentis, Dean’s younger sister.
Josh Heuston, who played Justin Kohl in Season 1, is not part of the Season 2 cast. His character is not expected to return after the actor moved on to another project.
How Big Was Season 1
Off Campus Season 1 reached 36 million viewers worldwide in its first 12 days of streaming, according to Amazon. It became the third most-viewed debut season of any series in Prime Video history, behind only The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and Fallout.
Among women aged 18 to 34, it was Prime Video’s most-viewed series debut season of all time. The season also holds a 92% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Off Campus captures the kind of emotionally charged, character-driven storytelling that truly resonates with our global Prime Video audience,” said Peter Friedlander, head of global TV at Amazon MGM Studios. “With its passionate fan base, rich source material, and an incredible creative team bringing Briar U to life, we knew that this series had the depth and momentum to continue beyond its first season.”
What Fans Are Saying
Reactions to the Dean and Allie news have been loud and mixed. Many viewers are excited to see the couple take the lead after their Season 1 cliffhanger.
“IM SHACKING I CANT BELIEVE THAT IM WRITING THIS TWEET RN I CANT BELIEVE THAT IM LOOKING AT THE PICTURES OF MY DEANALLIE THAT THEY ARE RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES,” one fan wrote on X.
“Moving Allie and Dean up to Season 2 is such a massive play,” another post read. “After that messy Hunter cliffhanger in the finale we need answers IMMEDIATELY”.
Some Hannah and Garrett fans want to make sure the original couple is not pushed aside.
“We want a lot of HannahGarrett screen time for next season, don’t forget it,” one viewer commented.
“Can’t wait to see Dean and Allie love story but i really can’t wait to see hannah and Garret back and the evolution of their relationship,” another fan wrote.
A separate wave of frustration hit in July 2026 when a promotional video focused on Mika Abdalla and Josh Heuston together rather than the fictional Dean and Allie pairing. Some book readers felt the marketing was distracting from the story Season 2 is meant to tell.
