The world of Percy Jackson is expanding faster than the Lotus Casino. Even before the second season hits screens, creator Rick Riordan has confirmed that a third season is on the way, and it will bring major new characters and divine twists to the Disney+ series. The new season will adapt The Titan’s Curse, a fan-favorite book that takes the story in a darker and more adventurous direction.
The Road to Season Three
Disney officially gave the green light for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 in March 2025. This early renewal came even before the second season’s premiere in December 2025, showing strong confidence in the series. The first season was a major hit, ranking among the top five most-watched original streaming series after its 2023 debut.
The quick move to produce Season 3 also solves a practical problem for the show. The young cast is growing up, and the story follows Percy’s adventures year by year. By moving quickly into production on the next season, the show avoids large gaps that would make the actors look noticeably older than their characters.
Season 3 Story: The Titan’s Curse
The third season will directly adapt the third book in Riordan’s series, The Titan’s Curse. This part of the story marks a shift, introducing higher stakes and a more serious tone. The central plot involves a dangerous rescue mission.
Percy, along with his friends Grover and Thalia, must save his friend Annabeth and the goddess Artemis, who have both been captured. Their journey will take them across the United States to a terrifying place: the Garden of the Hesperides, and eventually to a showdown with the Titan Atlas, who is forced to hold up the sky.
The story puts Annabeth in particular danger, a plot point the cast has acknowledged. Leah Sava Jeffries, who plays Annabeth, joked about her character’s reduced screen time, saying, “Of course, it’s their favorite season because I’m not there.”
New Faces Joining the Adventure
The Titan’s Curse introduces several pivotal new characters, and casting for the series is already in full swing.
- The Di Angelo Siblings: At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, it was announced that Olive Abercrombie and Levi Chrisopulos will play the demigod siblings Bianca and Nico di Angelo. Their parentage is a key mystery, as they are children of Hades.
- The Hunters of Artemis: The goddess of the hunt, Artemis, will be played by Dafne Keen. Her lieutenant, the immortal Hunter Zoรซ Nightshade, will be portrayed by Saara Chaudry.
- A Multi-Faced Goddess: Kate McKinnon has been cast as Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Riordan has teased that McKinnon’s version is not the only one fans will see. He explained that Aphrodite’s appearance changes depending on who is looking at her, reflecting the idea that beauty is subjective for everyone. “I will tell you that we honor that in the third season,” Riordan said. “So, while Kate is incredibleโฆ that’s not the only [one].”
