The upcoming Netflix superhero series Cashero is creating a lot of excitement, and not just for its unique story. The drama has brought together two popular actors from the hit 2025 series Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. Lee Chae-min and Kang Han-na, who played King Lee-heon and Consort Kang, are reuniting on screen, but this time they are trading royal robes for villainous roles. They will appear as the wealthy sibling duo Jonathan and Joanna, who are part of the “Criminal Association” targeting superheroes.

The series, which launches globally on December 26, 2025, stars Lee Jun-ho as an ordinary man whose superpowers come with a massive financial cost. This reunion is a special treat for fans who loved seeing Lee Chae-min and Kang Han-na together in the historical romance and are eager to see their dynamic in a completely different genre.

From the Royal Court to a Criminal Empire

In Bon Appétit, Your Majesty, Lee Chae-min won over audiences as the handsome but tyrannical King Lee-heon, whose life changes when a modern-day chef arrives in the Joseon era. Kang Han-na played the clever and ambitious Consort Kang. Their chemistry was a highlight of the series, which became popular for its mix of romance, palace politics, and food culture.

In Cashero, they are taking a sharp turn. They will portray Jonathan and Joanna, siblings from a wealthy chaebol family who are key figures in the villainous organization hunting superheroes. This switch from heroic historical figures to modern antagonists shows their range as actors and adds a layer of intrigue for their fans.

What Cashero Is All About

Cashero is based on a popular Kakao webtoon and introduces a superhero story with a very relatable problem: money. The plot follows Kang Sang-woong (Lee Jun-ho), a simple community center employee dreaming of buying a home. His life is upended when he suddenly gains superhuman strength. However, there’s a major catch: his power is directly linked to his cash. Every time he uses his strength, money disappears from his wallet.

“He always struggles to have enough cash to use his power.”

This puts him in a constant dilemma. Should he use his powers to help people and save the world, or save his money to finally achieve his dream of home ownership? This everyday financial worry makes the superhero premise fresh and humorous.

Meet the Unusual Superhero Team

Kang Sang-woong is not alone in his struggle. He is joined by other “imperfect” superheroes, each with their own unusual and costly power sources.

  • Kim Min-sook (Kim Hye-jun): Sang-woong’s practical fiancée. A math expert, she is understandably worried about her boyfriend’s new power that drains their wedding savings. She represents the voice of financial reason.
  • Byeon Ho-in (Kim Byung-chul): A lawyer who leads the Korean Coalition of Superheroes. His own power—the ability to pass through walls—only activates when he drinks alcohol.
  • Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi): A telekinetic heroine whose powers are fueled by calories. She gains strength by eating, with bread and pastries being her favorite fuel source.

Together, this unlikely team must balance their personal goals and quirks while facing off against the threats posed by the Criminal Association, which now includes the formidable siblings played by Lee Chae-min and Kang Han-na.

Global Release Details for Fans

Cashero will be available for viewers around the world at the same time. The series premieres exclusively on Netflix on December 26, 2025. All episodes are expected to be released at once, allowing for a complete binge-watch.

The series is directed by Lee Chang-min and written by Lee Jane and Jeon Chan-ho, based on the original webtoon by “team befar”.
