AMC’s crime drama Dark Winds is currently airing its fourth season, but production is already moving ahead on the next chapter. The show received an early renewal for Season 5 before the current season even started, and filming began in Santa Fe, New Mexico in March 2026. Now, two more actors have joined the cast for the upcoming episodes.
Noel Fisher, known for his role in Shameless, and Devin Sampson-Craig, who appeared in Rez Ball, have signed on for recurring roles in Season 5. The news comes as the show continues to build its cast for the 2027 premiere.
Noel Fisher and Devin Sampson-Craig Join the Recurring Cast
Noel Fisher brings significant television experience to Dark Winds. Audiences know him best as Mickey Milkovich from the long-running Showtime series Shameless. He also appeared in Castle Rock and The Pacific. In Season 5 of Dark Winds, Fisher will play Michael Jorie, described as a dangerous killer with a warped sense of righteousness and piety that fuels his involvement in a southwestern gang with a long history of violence.
Devin Sampson-Craig joins the show following his role in the Netflix film Rez Ball. He will portray Daniel Ironwater Jr. , a skilled ranch-hand whose time in Vietnam has left him conflicted and heading down the wrong path. Both characters add new layers of conflict to the 1970s-set story.
Other New Faces Coming to Dark Winds Season 5
Fisher and Sampson-Craig are not the only new additions. AMC previously announced that Paola Núñez and Martin Sensmeier have joined the series as regulars. Núñez, who starred in The Fall of the House of Usher and Fire Country, will play Luisa Alvarado, a lead investigator for the U.S. Attorney’s office with a connection to Lt. Joe Leaphorn’s past. Sensmeier will play Terry Bai, a former Vietnam veteran who has ties to Jim Chee from middle school.
