Alan Ritchson is not holding back when it comes to his excitement for the upcoming season of Reacher. The actor, who plays the lead role of Jack Reacher on the popular Prime Video series, recently made some big claims about Season 4. He said it is the best season of the show so far and called it “plain and simple.”

Ritchson shared these thoughts during an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz. When asked about the new season, he did not hesitate to give his honest opinion. He said that fans are going to enjoy this season more than any other. He also mentioned that the season feels very satisfying and authentic to the books that readers love the most.

The new season is set to arrive on Prime Video on August 12, 2026. The premiere will include the first three episodes, with new episodes dropping weekly until September 16. What Makes Season 4 Different

Ritchson explained that Season 4 takes things to another level. He said the season has many twists and turns with next-level violence. According to him, fans will love it because the violence is more heightened and fun than before. He believes this season shows the best of what the show has to offer.

He revealed that they shot 11 fights in the first four weeks of filming, which is a pace they have never done before.

Reacher Season 4 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The first three episodes will be available on August 12, 2026. After that, one new episode will be released each week until the season finale on September 16.

The season will have a total of eight episodes. This is the same episode count as previous seasons. Prime Video is included with an Amazon Prime membership, which costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year in the United States. What Is Season 4 About

Season 4 is based on the 13th book in Lee Child’s series, Gone Tomorrow. The story takes place in New York City. It begins when Jack Reacher witnesses the suicide of a Pentagon staffer named Susan Mark on a subway. This incident pulls him into a conspiracy involving a corrupt politician, terrorists, and multiple murders.

Reacher teams up with Susan’s brother, Jacob, to investigate her death and find her missing son. The season also includes a political conspiracy that Reacher uncovers by working with NYPD Detective Tamara Green. The story ties back to events from the Soviet-Afghan war in the 1980s.

Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, the role he has played since the series premiered in 2022. Maria Sten is expected to return as Frances Neagley, though her return has not been fully confirmed since she is leading her own spin-off series.

Spin-Off Series Coming Soon

On the same day as the Reacher Season 4 finale, September 16, 2026, all eight episodes of the spin-off series Neagley will be released on Prime Video. The spin-off stars Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a private investigator in Chicago and former military protege of Jack Reacher.

The story follows Neagley as she investigates the suspicious death of a beloved friend from her past. The cast includes Greyston Holt, Adeline Rudolph, Jasper Jones, Matthew Del Negro, and Damon Herriman. Alan Ritchson will also make a guest appearance as Jack Reacher.

Season 5 Already in the Works

Prime Video has already renewed Reacher for a fifth season. Ritchson confirmed that filming for Season 5 begins soon. He mentioned that every script has already been completed. The creative team already knows which Lee Child novel they are adapting, though Ritchson did not reveal the title.

Amazon MGM Studios’ Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, said they are excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of Season 4’s debut. This shows the studio’s strong confidence in the franchise.
