Parashar shared his thoughts on social media and made it clear that his request is not about himself. He wants audiences to back the talented actors who are part of the project and have worked hard to build their careers over the years.

“Go watch Mirzapur – The Film in the theatres. No, I am not in the film. But I say it for all the actors who ARE in the film.”

Parashar Calls the Cast ‘Craftiest Actors of Our Generation’

Amol Parashar praised the ensemble cast of Mirzapur The Movie, which includes Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal, Harshita Gaur and Shriya Pilgaonkar. He described them as “some of the craftiest actors of our generation” and said audiences already know their talent because they have seen their work and enjoyed their performances.

“This ensemble consists of some of the craftiest actors of our generation. I don’t need to convince you of it; you already know it. You’ve seen them at play; you’ve been entertained by their craft.”

The actor also highlighted the journey of these performers, noting that they have built their careers from the ground up and have worked constantly to improve themselves.

“All of them are people who have built their careers from the ground up, years of leaving no stone unturned while simultaneously working on themselves.”

A Call to Support Talent-Driven Cinema

Amol Parashar used his post to make a bigger point about how audiences talk about mainstream cinema. He said that while complaining about the quality of performances in Indian films is a common habit, people now have a real chance to make a difference.

“While complaining about the quality of performances and performers in Indian mainstream cinema is a fun pastime for most of the country, here is a chance to put our money where our mouth is.”

He explained that love and respect for actors do not drive business decisions. What actually matters is the money audiences are willing to spend on their favourite performers.

“Business doesn’t follow the love and respect you feel for your favourite actors; it follows the money you are willing to spend on them. That’s how the audience makes itself heard.”

Parashar said the answer to people who say they want to see more such actors on the big screen is right in front of them. He urged viewers to show up and let these performers entertain them in theatres.
