On July 19, the Netflix K-Drama Sweet Home released its third season, concluding its four-year journey.
The last eight episodes of the dystopian horror show wrapped up the story with a glint of hope, with all characters standing at the crossroads of a new world. Slowly, audience reviews have started pouring in, and it looks like a mixed bag as of now.
The third season has achieved an audience rating of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes, considered as one of the top entertainment recommendation websites. Though it is a noted improvement from season 2’s 50% rating, it falls massively short of season 1’s impressive 85%.
A netizen posted the season 3 rating on Theqoo, sparking a heated discussion about the show’s conclusion. While most agreed that season 1 was the best one of the lot, many opined that season 3 fared better than season 2.
- “I think ‘Sweet Home’ season 1 was the best.”
- “Season 3 was going pretty well, but then the last episode went like ‘?’ LOL.”
- “I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s more fun than season 2. It seems pretty average, isn’t it?”
- “It’s more fun than season 2, though.”
- “The CGI in season 1 was really bad and the direction style wasn’t good either, LOL. It’s amazing that it made it to the third installment.”
- “For me, it was 1>>>3>>>>>>>2. It got better when it returned to the perspective of the three main characters compared to season 2. Also, Song Kang and Lee Do Hyun really carried it. Both of them are insanely good-looking.”
- “I stopped watching from season 2 because it got boring.”
- “Season 3 was fun, though?”
- “I enjoyed season 1 so much that I started watching season 2 as soon as it was released, but then I quit…ㅠ Is season 3 any better?”
- “Top of Form
- Bottom of Form
- The tone changed so much since season 2 that it felt like a different show. I didn’t even have any expectations, but it was indeed lame.”
