The question of whether Daredevil will show up in the next Spider-Man movie has been going on for months. The interviewer pushed further. He asked if Cox was one of the other heroes fighting alongside Spider-Man against the Hand, the ninja group shown in the trailer. Cox did not change his answer.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about but I’m not there. I promise you, unless they put me in after the fact using computer generated images, I’m not there, I promise. I’m sorry.”

This connects the movie directly to the storylines from the Daredevil show. If the Kingpin’s staff is in the movie, why would Daredevil himself not be there?
Some fans have also noticed that one scene in the trailer looks like it was changed. There is a shot where Spider-Man fights the Hand ninjas. The background looks empty in a strange way, as if other characters were removed. Marvel has done this before. They took Hulk out of the Infinity War trailer to keep his appearance a secret. They could be doing the same thing here with Daredevil.
A Timeline That Makes A Cameo Possible
The movie takes place in 2028, which is four years after No Way Home. Wilson Fisk became mayor of New York City in 2026. The trailer shows Spider-Man getting the Key to the City, but it seems unlikely that Mayor Fisk would give such an honor to a masked hero. Fisk hates vigilantes. This suggests that the ceremony might happen either before Fisk became mayor or after he lost the job.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is expected to end the “Mayor Fisk” storyline. That means by the time the movie happens, Fisk might already be out of office. This creates a natural link between the show and the film. And if the show’s story ends right before the movie starts, it would be the perfect time for Daredevil to appear on the big screen.
What This Means For Fans
The release dates for both projects are very close. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 started streaming on March 25, 2026. Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on July 31, 2026 in the US and globally. Fans in the UK, Canada, Australia, and India will also get the movie around the same time in late July.
Charlie Cox has given his word. He has said multiple times on different platforms that he is not in the movie. But the evidence from the trailer, Marvel’s history of lying to protect surprises, and the way Cox delivers his denials all suggest otherwise.
