Dakota Johnson, an actress known for movies like Fifty Shades of Grey, recently opened up about her time filming the series finale of the popular sitcom The Office. It turns out, things weren’t quite what she expected!
A Dream Role Turns Longer Than Expected : Dakota Johnson
In an interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Dakota Johnson revealed that filming for The Office wasn’t exactly a dream come true, even though she’s a big fan of the show. Here’s the surprising part: she was only supposed to be there for half a day!
“I loved that show so much,” Johnson said. “They asked me to be in the finale, and of course I said yes! I thought I’d be there for like, a few hours.”
Imagine her surprise when she found out she actually had to film for two whole weeks! Even though she spent all that time on set, Johnson says you barely see her character in the final episode. “I was there for two weeks,” she said, laughing, “and I’m barely in the dang show!”
A Bittersweet Experience
Being on the set of your favorite show sounds like a blast, right? Well, for Dakota Johnson, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. The Office had been running for ten years by the time she filmed the finale, and things on set were a little strange.
“It was kind of a weird time,” Johnson explained. “The cast and crew were sad because the show was ending, and there were some mixed feelings. Plus, some of the people hadn’t spoken to each other in a while.”
This awkward atmosphere made things tough for Dakota Johnson, who was just excited to be a part of the show. “I was all happy and perky, like ‘Wow, this is amazing!’ But nobody really seemed to care,” she said. “I spent most of the time in the background, just faxing papers.”
Could There Be a Second Chance?
Even though her experience wasn’t what she hoped for, Johnson did leave the door open for a possible return to the world of The Office. In another interview, she jokingly mentioned that her character could be the star of a spinoff series, although she admits it might be a difficult idea to make work.
There’s no news yet on whether a spinoff will actually happen, but Johnson’s story gives us a glimpse into what it can be like to film our favorite shows. Even for big stars, things don’t always go according to plan!
