The trailer for Drishyam: The Conclusion is finally out, and it brings back Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. The trailer was released on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at a grand event in Goa. Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, and Jaideep Ahlawat attended the launch. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres on October 2, 2026.

A New Threat Enters Vijay’s World

The trailer picks up after the events of Drishyam 2. Vijay Salgaonkar’s carefully built story is once again under scrutiny. Jaideep Ahlawat joins the franchise as SP Crime Branch Rajveer Singh Tomar. His character is determined to uncover the truth that Vijay has managed to hide for years.

Unlike the previous investigators, Rajveer does not accept things at face value. He wants answers and appears ready to pull apart Vijay’s version of events piece by piece. The trailer shows him entering the Salgaonkar home and vowing to expose the family’s lies.

Prakash Raj also joins the cast as a lawyer. His character warns others not to take Vijay lightly, saying, “He is uneducated, not a fool. I wouldn’t try to take him lightly”. This suggests that the battle between Vijay and the police will be more complicated than it first appears.

Vijay’s Family Remains His Top Priority

The trailer makes it clear that Vijay’s family is still his main reason for everything he does. Tabu returns as IG Meera Deshmukh, whose personal quest for revenge against Vijay continues. Shriya Saran is back as Nandini Salgaonkar, and Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav return as Vijay’s daughters.

The Salgaonkar family has always stood together. But this time, the danger seems to be closing in from multiple directions. Vijay appears more vulnerable than in previous films. He admits in the trailer, “I don’t know from where the danger will come this time. Now, this game isn’t about mind anymore. It is about luck”.

Another powerful line from the trailer states, “A man breaks himself at every step for his family”. The trailer ends with the challenge, “You cannot even imagine what that ordinary man can become”.

Fan Reactions Pour In After Trailer Drop

Social media users have been quick to share their thoughts on the trailer. One user called it “tense as hell”. Another wrote, “#DrishyamTheConclusion trailer impress me a lot, I have heard that it is going to be different from the Malayalam version of Drishyam”.

A fan tweeted, “This intense face-off is going to be absolute cinema! When two legends come face-to-face like this, you know the thrill and tension will be unmatched”. Another user predicted a strong opening, saying, “Opening day after this trailer? ₹35–45 Cr feels very possible”.

Jaideep Ahlawat Addresses Replacement Comparisons

At the trailer launch, Jaideep Ahlawat spoke about comparisons with Akshaye Khanna, who played IPS Tarun Ahlawat in Drishyam 2. He clarified that he does not see his character as a replacement.

“No, because when I heard the story, it did not feel like I was coming in place of Akshaye sir. A new character is being introduced. There is no point in taking that pressure.”

He further explained, “The journey is different, the introduction is new, and a new relationship is going to be created with Meera and the Salgaonkar family. So, it is going to be a very individualistic approach to this character”.

Reports suggest that Akshaye Khanna exited the project due to disagreements over remuneration and look.
