The wait for more drunken diving chaos just got shorter. The official team behind Grand Blue Dreaming has confirmed that Season 3 will officially hit the airwaves in July 2026, bringing the beloved gang back for another round of laughter, alcohol, and underwater adventures.
Alongside the release window, the production staff also dropped a fresh key visual and announced three new cast members joining the series. This marks a significant milestone for the franchise, as the story is set to take the characters outside Japan for the very first time, heading to the tropical paradise of Palau.
New Key Visual and Palau Story Arc Revealed
The newly released key visual for Grand Blue Season 3 features main characters Iori Kitahara, Chisa Kotegawa, and Kohei Imamura against a stunning backdrop of the Palau Islands. The artwork captures the vibrant blue waters and tropical setting that will serve as the main stage for the upcoming season.
This season will adapt the popular Palau arc from the original manga. For the first time in the anime’s history, the story moves away from the familiar coastal town of Izu and follows Iori and his friends on an overseas trip. The change in scenery promises to introduce new faces, fresh cultural misunderstandings, and the same signature brand of chaotic humor that fans have come to love.
The third season was first announced immediately after the Season 2 finale aired in September 2025. The quick turnaround from announcement to broadcast shows the strong confidence the production committee has in the series following the success of its long-awaited second season.
Three New Cast Members Join the Grand Blue Family
With the shift to Palau comes a set of new characters who will interact with the main cast. The official website has confirmed three new voice actors joining the lineup for Grand Blue Season 3.
- Sayaka Ohara will voice Sayaka Kotegawa. She is known for her roles as Erza Scarlet in Fairy Tail and Alicia Florence in Aria. In the series, she plays the mother of the Kotegawa sisters, making her a key figure in Chisa and Nanaka’s family.
- Asami Seto will voice the character listed as Chief. Seto is a highly respected voice actress famous for roles like Mai Sakurajima in Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai and Nobara Kugisaki in Jujutsu Kaisen. She will portray the leader of a diving shop located in Palau.
- Aya Suzaki will voice Maki, an employee at the same diving shop in Palau. Suzaki is known for her work as Tamako Kitashirakawa in Tamako Market and Mako Reizei in Girls und Panzer.
These new additions will join the returning main cast, including Yuma Uchida as Iori Kitahara, Ryohei Kimura as Kohei Imamura, and Chika Anzai as Chisa Kotegawa.
Returning Staff and Production Details
The creative team behind the first two seasons is returning to ensure consistency in the series’ unique comedic tone. Shinji Takamatsu is back as the director, scriptwriter, and sound director. Takamatsu is known for his work on other hit comedies like Gintama and School Rumble, making him a perfect fit for the wild energy of Grand Blue.
Animation production is once again a collaborative effort between Studio Zero-G and Liber. The two studios worked together on the second season, which aired in July 2025, following a six-year gap after the first season premiered in 2018. The return of the same studios aims to maintain the high-quality animation standards set by the previous seasons.

What to Expect From Grand Blue Season 3
Grand Blue Dreaming follows Iori Kitahara, a college student who moves to a coastal town to live in his uncle’s diving shop. Instead of the peaceful campus life he expected, he gets dragged into the alcohol-fueled antics of the Diving Club, Peek a Boo. The series is famous for its extreme slapstick comedy, intense drinking contests, and surprisingly beautiful depictions of scuba diving.
The upcoming Palau arc is highly regarded among manga readers for its mix of vacation vibes and the usual chaotic interactions between Iori, Kohei, and the new local characters. It also offers significant character development moments as the group navigates being in a foreign country for the first time.
