KBS 2TV’s weekend drama “Love on the Menu” is picking up speed, and the upcoming fourth episode is set to deliver one of the most dramatic moments of the series so far. The family romance drama tells the story of Kim Moo Jin (Ha Seok Jin) and Han Gyu Rim (Hani), two former lovers who reunite eight years after a painful breakup. As they reconnect, they work to piece together their broken families and build a new life together. The series premiered on July 25, 2026, and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. KST on KBS 2TV.
What Happened in the Previous Episode
The third episode ended on a tense note. Kim Moo Jin refused to give in to his mother’s demand to break up with Han Gyu Rim. He chose to walk away from everything, giving up his wealth and status to become a day laborer just so he could stay with her.
But the episode closed with Kim Moo Jin in serious danger while carrying cement up a flight of stairs. The accident left him unconscious in a hospital bed.
When Han Gyu Rim heard about what happened, she rushed to the hospital. There, she finally let go of the tears she had been holding back.
The accident brings sorrow to both sides of a complicated family situation. Go Yoon Hee (Yoon Yoo Sun) comforts her stepdaughter Jang Seo Hyun (Lee Joo Yeon). But in a painful moment, she walks right past her own biological daughter, Han Gyu Rim, without recognizing her.

Ha Seok Jin plays Kim Moo Jin, the owner-chef of an Italian restaurant. He described his character as someone who grew up in a good environment but faces hardships while pursuing his passion and the person he loves. Despite the challenges, Moo Jin believes his path is correct and charges forward.
Hani plays Han Gyu Rim, an employee at a market side-dish shop. She is the eldest daughter of the Han family and serves as the emotional anchor for her siblings.
The supporting cast includes Park You Na as Han Gyu Young, Ryu Seung Soo as father Han Seok Joong, Bae Jung Nam as Jo Heung Sik, Lee Joo Yeon as Jang Seo Hyun, and Yoon Yoo Sun as Go Yoon Hee.
Hani’s Comeback After Three Years
This drama marks Hani’s return to acting after a three-year break. In 2024, she announced her marriage to psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong. But his hospital faced a patient death incident, which led to legal charges and the hospital’s closure. Their wedding was postponed, and Hani put her activities on hold.
At the production presentation on July 22, Hani spoke about her return. She said she was sorry for the concern caused by personal matters and did not want to burden the project with her own story. She felt pressure but decided to push forward. She expressed gratitude for the chance to meet audiences through this weekend drama and hoped to deliver comfort, hope, and love through her character Gyu Rim.
To prepare for the role, Hani learned cooking and gained various experiences to understand her character better. She now feels closer to Gyu Rim.
Director Hong Seok-gu praised Hani, saying that from their first meeting, she embodied Gyu Rim. His initial impression was correct, and it only deepened during filming.

Ha Seok Jin shared his thoughts on working with Hani. He said it had been a while since he focused on a romance-centered drama. He had heard various external stories about Hani but believed she had the strength to channel her energy into this project.
He added that he did not realize how long it had been since his last drama. But as an actor returning after such a gap, he believed one would naturally recharge and radiate energy. On set, he had been pleasantly surprised and energized. He considered working with her a stroke of luck.
Their characters do not start as a smooth couple. There is no instant romance. But Ha Seok Jin said he was excited to see how their bond deepens and how heated their relationship becomes. So far, their chemistry has been fantastic, and he is grateful to his co-star for making the filming process enjoyable.
Hani responded that before filming, she wanted to bond with Ha Seok Jin, so they went hiking together. Through deep conversations, they naturally got to know each other and grew closer. During filming, she admitted she had been inexperienced and had many shortcomings since it had been a while since her last project. But whenever she struggled, Ha Seok Jin quietly stepped in to help. She has relied on him a lot and is truly grateful.
