WINNER’s Mino is facing controversy over accusations of falsifying his attendance during his alternative military service. Reports suggest that Mino often did not appear at the Mapo Resident Welfare Facility, where he was assigned to work. Accusations also point to possible favoritism from Mr. L, the facility’s director, who is referred to as “A” in reports.
Director Denies Allegations
On December 19, Mr. L responded to the allegations, denying any wrongdoing by Mino. He stated that he saw Mino daily and ensured his attendance was logged. However, he acknowledged that due to managing multiple individuals, he might not have checked Mino’s presence every morning. Despite this, Mr. L firmly rejected the claims of attendance manipulation and committed to cooperating with the Military Manpower Administration to review CCTV footage.
Health Concerns and Service Status
Mino was categorized as unfit for standard military service back in March or April, receiving a Grade 4 supplementary service classification due to his ongoing treatment for panic disorder and bipolar disorder. Mr. L mentioned that although an early discharge was suggested, Mino chose to continue his service.
Recent Health Issues
The director also noted that Mino had taken two consecutive sick leaves, highlighting the challenges Mino faces with his mental health. His condition reportedly fluctuates, with significant downturns noted in February and April. Mino is currently said to be hospitalized, as per his manager’s statement.
In addition to these professional challenges, Mino is also the subject of dating rumors with actress Park Ju Hyun.
Mino’s situation reflects the complexities of balancing public duties with personal health issues. The ongoing investigation by the Military Manpower Administration will determine the validity of these claims, while Mino’s health continues to be a point of concern.
