Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will premiere in January 2026. The announcement came during a special livestream event celebrating the anime’s fifth anniversary. Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the new season worldwide, though audiences in Asia will need to check local platforms. The first two episodes will get an early screening in Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, a compilation movie hitting U.S. theaters on December 5, 2025.

New Trailer Reveals Key Story Points and Character Conflicts

A new teaser trailer for Season 3 debuted during the August 31 anniversary event. It shows Yuji Itadori struggling with guilt over the Shibuya Incident, believing he caused many deaths. The preview also features a fierce battle between Yuji and Yuta Okkotsu, who has been assigned as Yuji’s executioner. Additional scenes hint at conflicts involving new and returning characters, including Choso, Naoya Zen’in, Megumi Fushiguro, Yuki Tsukumo, and Maki Zen’in.

What to Expect in the Culling Game Arc

Season 3 will adapt the Culling Game arc from the manga, covering chapters 159 to 221. This story follows the aftermath of the Shibuya Incident, where the villain Kenjaku (disguised as Geto) triggers a massive battle royale between sorcerers and awakened humans. The arc includes Yuji’s Extermination plotline and the Perfect Preparation chapters, where heroes get ready for the deadly tournament. Yuji’s voice actor, Junya Enoki, shared:

“I started recording already, and I can tell you, the battle scenes are on a whole different level. I would be excited about that if I were you”.

Returning Cast and Characters

Most main cast members are expected to return, including Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, and Yuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo. Takahiro Sakurai will likely continue as Geto/Kenjaku. Megumi Ogata returns as Yuta Okkotsu, and Saori Hayami joins as Tsumiki Fushiguro. Characters like Nobara and Nanami, who faced severe fates in Season 2, may only appear in flashbacks.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Ongoing Popularity and Manga Sales

Despite the manga ending in September 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen remains hugely popular. It was the best-selling manga in the first half of 2025, with over 3.36 million copies sold. This success comes even without new volumes released during that period, showing strong ongoing fan interest. The series has sold over 100 million copies total, making it one of the best-selling manga ever.

How to Catch Up on Previous Seasons

All episodes from Season 1 and Season 2, plus the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie, are available on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix. A compilation movie, Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory/Premature Death, which covers Season 2’s prequel episodes, was released in Japanese theaters in May 2025.
