KBS 1TV is bringing a new weekday drama series called Mission: Mompossible (also known as Mom Is Crazy). The show features a strong cast led by Jung Min Ah and Dong Ha. It tells the story of two very different mothers and how their families come together in unexpected ways.
The drama is set to premiere on September 28, 2026, at 8:30 PM KST. It will air every Monday through Friday on KBS1. The series is scheduled for 120 episodes.
Two Mothers With Completely Different Lives
The core of Mission: Mompossible revolves around two women who have lived their lives in opposite ways. One mother has given everything she has to her family. She dedicated her whole life to raising her children and taking care of her household. The other mother chose a different path. She focused on herself and lived life for her own happiness.
These two women come from different worlds. Their children also have a complicated relationship with each other. The drama shows how these families, who are like sworn enemies at first, go through a turbulent journey and grow together as one family.
The production team shared that each of the five mothers in the show has her own way of dealing with family. They have different goals and different things they want to protect.
The Main Cast and Their Roles
Jung Min Ah plays the role of Kang Da Mi. She works as a personal assistant to the chief designer at Hwanggeum Apparel. Kang Da Mi was adopted at the age of five by Jo Mi Mi, played by Kim Hee Jung. She is the youngest daughter in the family. Her personality is bright and determined. She cares deeply about her family above everything else. Her biggest dream is to become a fashion designer.
Dong Ha takes on the role of Cha Seung Yoon. He is the chief designer at Hwanggeum Apparel and the eldest grandson of the Hwanggeum family. Cha Seung Yoon lost his parents in an accident when he was a child. He went to the United States to study and became a famous fashion designer around the world. He is someone who cares more about clothes than people. But he is also trying to find out the truth about his parents’ accident that happened 23 years ago.
Kim Hee Jung plays Jo Mi Mi, Kang Da Mi’s adoptive mother. She runs a samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) restaurant. Her husband left her for another woman. Despite this, she raised three children by herself while also taking care of her mother-in-law.
Kang Kyung Heon appears as Jeon Jung Hee. She is the representative of Hwanggeum Apparel and the daughter-in-law of the Hwanggeum family. On the outside, she looks like an elegant businesswoman with a perfect family. But inside, she has a dangerous desire to protect what belongs to her, even if she has to lie to do it.
Other cast members include Kim Young Ok, Yang Hee Kyung, and Jo Mi Ryung.
The Team Behind the Drama
The drama is directed by Sung Joon Hae. He is known for his delicate and stable directing style in previous works like Iron Family and Urachacha My Life. The script is written by Na Seung Hyun. She has shown strong writing skills in dramas such as A Bean in My Eye and Crazy Love.
Two New Posters Show the Family Dynamic
KBS 1TV released two new posters for Mission: Mompossible. The posters give viewers a clear look at the show’s tone and family dynamics.
The first poster shows all the main cast members hugging each other warmly. It looks like a happy family photo. But there is a funny detail. In the middle of five smiling mothers, Kang Da Mi (Jung Min Ah) and Cha Seung Yoon (Dong Ha) look confused and overwhelmed.
The second poster looks like a family portrait. Kang Da Mi and Cha Seung Yoon are sitting underneath five mothers who are all smiling cheerfully. The mothers look happy, but the two younger characters look awkward and unsure of what to do.
These posters show the contrast between the generations. The mothers are full of joy while the younger couple seems lost in the middle of all this family chaos.
The First Teaser Shows Family Frustration
The production team also released the first teaser for the drama. It introduces viewers to Jo Mi Mi (Kim Hee Jung) and her three adult children.
Jo Mi Mi has spent her whole life taking care of her family. Now she is fed up with her children. Each one of them is stressing her out in a different way.
She complains to her daughter Kang Da Mi: “Are you planning to grow old and die alone in this house without having ever dated at your age?” Kang Da Mi answers back without flinching: “It’s not that I couldn’t date; I simply chose not to”.
Next, her older son Kang Gang Nam (Kang Eun Tak) tries to stop his mother from nagging. He points out: “Mom! I’m pushing 40!” But his age does not stop his mom. She fires back that Gang Nam moved back home after losing all his money and getting divorced.
Finally, her younger son Kang Dae Chi (Kim Jong Hoon) shouts: “Mom, you promised you wouldn’t kill me!” The frustrated Jo Mi Mi explodes: “How can all of my kids do this to me? By now, you all deserve a beating from me!” Her three kids all answer together: “Mom, have you gone crazy?”
The teaser shows the funny and relatable struggles of family life.
Chemistry Between Jung Min Ah and Dong Ha
The production team released still photos showing Jung Min Ah and Dong Ha together. The pictures capture the affectionate and playful interactions between Kang Da Mi and Cha Seung Yoon. They are seen making a hand heart with bright smiles and playfully pressing their cheeks together.
In the drama, Kang Da Mi grows as a designer while working alongside her role model, Cha Seung Yoon. Cha Seung Yoon, who used to value clothes more than people, learns to open his heart through his encounters with the bold and quirky Kang Da Mi.
The production team shared that Jung Min Ah and Dong Ha naturally show the relationship between their characters, who have different personalities. They hope audiences look forward to seeing how these two characters grow and influence each other while chasing their dreams.
Jung Min Ah brings out Kang Da Mi’s determined side as she aims to build her own brand. Dong Ha shows the emotional changes of Cha Seung Yoon as he goes from a cold designer to someone who gradually opens up to Kang Da Mi’s quirks.
