To fully become his character, Lee Je-hoon took extreme measures. He thought of himself as “dry firewood” because his character had to survive in harsh conditions without much food. Lee Je-hoon restricted his eating and fasted for four and a half months. He said, “I felt dizzy every time I filmed. In order to express the scene of running without much sleep, I was careful even when I drank a sip of water or ate a chocolate bar.”
Lee Je-hoon explained that he gave his all to this role. He said, “I gave it everything I had, as it was shown to the audience on the large screen in the movie theater. Even though my acting was lacking, I thought I’d do my best and did it with no regrets.”
One interesting detail from the filming was about a scene where he fell into a swamp. Lee Je-hoon laughed and shared, “Fortunately, the prop team filled the muddy water with delicious nuts. I thought it was delicious as I ate it.”

Lee Je-hoon also talked about his surgery for ischemic colitis in October of last year. He shared that he thought he was usually careful about his health, but the surgery was a sudden event. He confessed, “When I was signing the death consent form before the surgery, my life flashed before my eyes. Before closing my eyes, I thought, ‘I should have just lived my life’.”
This health scare made Lee Je-hoon think deeply about his life. He started a YouTube channel to introduce independent films and theaters. He plans to make 100 episodes. He said, “It’s a channel that introduces independent films and independent theaters. I’m thinking of making 100 episodes.”
