BLACKPINK member LISA is preparing for a busy year ahead. She has confirmed that she is working on her second solo album. The new music will support her upcoming Las Vegas residency shows. This news comes after her successful debut album Alter Ego dropped in 2025.
LISA shared the update during her cover story interview with Vanity Fair. She is currently in the United States working on the project. The album is still in its early stages, but she has clear plans for it.
LISA Says New Album Will Connect With Her Vegas Shows
The Thai superstar revealed that her second album will tie directly into her VIVA LA LISA residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. The shows are set for November 13, 14, 27, and 28, 2026. This makes LISA the first K-pop artist to have a Las Vegas residency.
LISA told Vanity Fair that she wants to give fans something fresh. She does not want people who have seen her perform before to watch the same show. The loose plan is for the album to serve as a foundation for the residency performances.
“The loose idea is for the album to support her Vegas residency. She wants people who’ve seen her perform to have a new experience.”
The singer is still in the early creative phase. She has been doing exploratory recording sessions. LISA mentioned that she cannot share too many details yet because the project is just starting.
What We Know About LISA’s Sophomore Album So Far
LISA’s second album will follow her debut full-length release Alter Ego. That album arrived in February 2025 and reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200. It featured hit singles like Rockstar, New Woman, and Born Again.
The new project is being produced under her own management company Lloud, in partnership with RCA Records. LISA is taking a more independent approach to her solo career.
During her Vanity Fair interview, LISA opened up about her creative freedom. She talked about the difference between working in K-pop and the American music scene.
“In the K-pop world, we only focus on work. But here (in the US), the atmosphere is more relaxed, and there is a different style. I just want to explore my own music genre and style more, and I hope people mainly focus on my work.”
LISA is also expanding into acting. She made her debut as Mook in the third season of The White Lotus. She also has a thriller film called TYGO and a Netflix romantic comedy in development.

BLINKs around the world have been reacting to LISA’s announcements. The residency tickets sold out very quickly. Pre-sale tickets disappeared in just 22 minutes on April 22. The general sale on April 23 cleared out in less than nine minutes.
LISA also launched a mysterious countdown website called hellosawadika.com. The countdown is set to end on August 24, 2026. The site features the words “HELLO สวัสดีค่ะ” in a red design. It cycles through the word “hello” in 11 different languages.
Fans have been searching for clues in LISA’s social media posts. She recently posted messages with unusual capitalisation, including “hELLo uTaH”. Many believe these hints point to new music coming soon.
LISA also recently made history at the MTV Video Music Awards. She became the first K-pop soloist to receive 10 career nominations at the ceremony. She earned four nominations for the 2026 show.

LISA said Jennie taught her a lot because she spoke English well. She and Jisoo found ways to communicate even though they did not share a common language at first.
LISA also shared that her mother always wanted her to be a child actress. She said she hated the idea at the time. Now she is enjoying her acting roles and expanding her career in new directions.
The VIVA LA LISA residency will take place at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. This venue has hosted major artists like Celine Dion, Lady Gaga, and Adele. LISA is set to join that list of legendary performers.
Her debut album Alter Ego reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. The album helped establish LISA as a strong solo artist outside of BLACKPINK. She also became the first Thai artist to perform at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
LISA’s second album does not have a release date yet. She is still in the recording phase and exploring different directions. But fans can expect the new music to arrive around the time of her Vegas shows in November.
