Parminder “Parmi” Singh from Love Is Blind: Italy has directly asked people to stop sending threats to Gergana and her family. Gergana decided not to marry Parmi at the altar during the show’s finale. After the episode aired, many viewers online accused Gergana’s family of being racist. On December 18, 2025, Parmi posted an Instagram video to say those accusations are wrong. He stated clearly that her family is not racist and that the situation was more complex than the edited show made it seem.

Parmi’s Public Statement on Instagram

Parmi posted his video message to set the record straight about what happened. He explained that he is seeing a lot of hate directed at Gergana and her family and that he “cannot accept this”.

โ€œThese days, I am seeing attacks, insults, and hatred addressed to Gergana and her family. Heavy words, insults, even threats, and I cannot accept this. I want to say it clearly and directly without too many interpretations. Her family is not racist!โ€

He stressed that he was there in person for the events viewers only saw in a highly edited format. He asked people to remember that “there are no saints or monsters in this story,” explaining that everyone involved is a real person with real feelings.

What Happened Between Gergana and Parmi on the Show

Gergana and Parmi connected in the pods and got engaged. Later, they introduced each other to their families. During the show, Gergana’s father shared his honest thoughts. He said he did not expect his daughter’s partner to be Indian and mentioned he was worried about their cultural differences.

At their wedding on December 15, 2025, Gergana chose not to marry Parmi. She told him she did not want to disappoint her parents. Many viewers believed her family’s concerns about culture directly led to her saying no. This caused a strong reaction on social media, with some people labeling Gergana’s family as racist.

Parmi Explains the Family’s Concerns Were Not Racism

In his video, Parmi defended Gergana’s parents. He explained that their reaction came from fear and concern for their only daughter, not from hatred.

โ€œThere were fears, yes. There were prejudices, maybe. But we talk about parents who have one daughter, and that they were afraid, rightly, about something they did not know.โ€

Parmi, who is of Indian descent, said he knows what real racism looks like. He stated that what he experienced with Gergana’s family was not it. He described their meeting as pleasant and said that lighthearted comments from her father were taken out of context in the final edit of the show.

Parmi Asks for Empathy and Understanding

Along with his video, Parmi also shared a written message asking for kindness from viewers. He acknowledged that fans felt connected to their story and might be disappointed by the outcome.

โ€œI know this episode touched a lot of chords and I understand the strong emotions it could have sparkedโ€ฆ What I ask you, however, is to remember that behind that moment there are two real people.โ€

He emphasized that Gergana made her choice with “great effort and honesty,” not with coldness or bad intentions. He asked people to show empathy for both of them and to consider everything that was not shown on television.
