Netflix has dropped a fresh trailer for the upcoming Korean romantic comedy Our Sticky Love, giving viewers a closer look at how annoyance and confusion slowly give way to genuine affection between the two lead characters.
The series brings together Jung Hae In (Love Next Door) and Ha Young (The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call) in a story about a prosecutor who loses her memory and wakes up in a rural village with a boxing coach who claims to be her boyfriend. The drama is scheduled to premiere on August 7, 2026, exclusively on Netflix.
What the New Trailer Reveals
The main trailer opens with Go Eun Sae (Ha Young) waking up in a small rural hospital with no memory of who she is. Before she can make sense of anything, Jang Tae Ha (Jung Hae In) appears and calmly announces he is her boyfriend.
Eun Sae struggles to accept this claim. Everything about the village feels strange to her, from Tae Ha’s scruffy appearance to the quiet town lined with traditional taffy workshops. The trailer shows her confusion and frustration as she tries to adjust to a life she does not remember.
But Tae Ha’s gentle affection slowly starts to break down her defenses. He catches her off guard with lines like, “There’s nothing about you that isn’t beautiful,” gradually bringing a smile to her face. The trailer later shows him leaning in for a kiss, telling her, “Forget that awkward kiss. This is the real one,” suggesting a turning point in their relationship.
The trailer ends on a mysterious note. Tae Ha says, “We absolutely can’t let anyone find out,” hinting at a secret behind their relationship.
The Story Behind the Romance
Our Sticky Love follows Go Eun Sae, an ambitious prosecutor investigating a crime syndicate before an accident leaves her with complete amnesia. She wakes up in the peaceful village of Yeot, which also refers to the sticky traditional Korean candy.
Jang Tae Ha is a boxing coach who was once involved with a criminal organization. He left that life behind to work as a gym coach. During his final mission to escape the organization, he encounters his first love, Eun Sae, who has lost her memory. To protect her from his dangerous past, he claims to be her boyfriend.
The series features Heo Sung Tae (Squid Game) as Baek Sang Gil, a ruthless crime boss. Heo described this role as “the most evil villain I have ever played,” joking that he hopes audiences will end up hating his character even more than his Squid Game role.
Director and Cast Share Their Thoughts
Director Kim Jang Han, known for Do You Like Brahms? and My Demon, described the series as a romantic comedy that viewers can comfortably enjoy.
“It’s a story about building love that binds two people as tightly as sticky, sweet Korean taffy. The series’ irresistible charm will leave you unable to pull yourself away, just like getting stuck to Korean taffy before you even realize it.”
Kim explained that he blended the crime drama genre into the rom-com series to demonstrate Tae Ha’s romantic decisions and actions.
“While the series is basically a romantic comedy, bringing in the genre of crime was a helpful tool in showing a romantic man who is not afraid to risk his life for love.”
Jung Hae In described his character as the ultimate example of pure love. He admitted the Korean title, which translates literally to “yeot-like love,” initially caught him off guard.
“Because yeot is a traditional candy, I took it as a ‘candy-like’ kind of love — sweet, sticky and charming. What pulled me in most was the storyline. The script was an absolute page-turner. It starts as a rom-com, turns into a melodrama, dips into thriller and noir territory, and then weaves back to romance.”
Jung also shared that the action scenes have a distinct style.
“Viewers get to see comedy, action, and romance all in one character. On set, we used to joke that scenes with Go Eun Sae felt like a pure romance, but the second she wrapped for the day, it turned into a gritty noir. It felt like filming two different projects at the same time.”
Ha Young, who is making her lead debut in a romantic comedy, admitted she was initially overwhelmed about taking on such a role.
“At first, I wondered if the title would be okay, but it was so captivating that I read the entire script in one sitting.”
She praised her co-star Jung Hae In, rating him “1000 points out of 100” as an acting partner.
“It was a set where I learned so much that it felt like taking acting lessons.”
Ha Young also shared a touching story from the set. During filming in Yeongdeok, Jung Hae In paid for snow crab for all the staff.

Release Details
Our Sticky Love premieres on August 7, 2026, on Netflix. The series consists of 12 episodes and will drop all episodes at once.
The drama is written by Mo Ji Hye and directed by Kim Jang Han. It marks Jung Hae In’s return to the romantic comedy genre following Love Next Door in 2024.
The series is set in Gujin Yeot Village, a quiet countryside area lined with traditional taffy workshops. The village setting plays a key role in the story, with the sticky taffy serving as a metaphor for the main couple’s bond.
