What to Expect From the Story in Season 2
Overcompensating follows Benny Scanlon (played by Skinner), a closeted former football player. The story takes place during his freshman year at the made-up Yates University. He quickly becomes best friends with Carmen (Wally Baram), an outsider who wants to fit in at any cost.
The first season ended with a major problem. Carmen accidentally told Benny’s sister Grace (Mary Beth Barone) and his crush Miles (Rish Shah) that he is gay. This happened without Benny’s permission. Season 2 will likely deal with the fallout of this moment. The show will explore how Benny deals with being outed. It will also show whether he and Carmen can fix their damaged friendship.
