Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas is set to lead a new Hollywood survival thriller titled Reset alongside Orlando Bloom. The film, directed by Matt Smukler, will start production in August 2026.
‘Reset’ Story and What to Expect
The movie follows a woman played by Priyanka Chopra who wakes up in the middle of a remote wilderness, days away from any city. She has no memory of how she got there. Her only chance to stay alive is to trust a charming stranger, played by Orlando Bloom. But this stranger may not be who he says he is.
Writer Jordan Rawlins wrote the script. The producers describe it as a mix of survival, romance, suspense, and deceit with shocking turns. Priyanka Chopra will play a woman fighting for her life while trying to figure out if the person helping her is actually a threat.
Why the Director Chose Priyanka Chopra and Orlando Bloom
Director Matt Smukler said he searched for two actors who could show both attraction and doubt at the same time on screen. He believes Priyanka Chopra and Orlando Bloom have a special skill to make audiences believe both emotions without effort.
“I was looking for a pairing where attraction and mistrust could effortlessly coexist. Priyanka and Orlando have this uncanny ability to make you believe both at once. Their chemistry is undeniable,” Smukler told the press.
Production and Team Behind the Film
Reset is produced by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber under their Fratricidal Films banner. Michael Lazarovitch (Chemically Altered) and Matthew Rhodes (Rhodes Entertainment) also produce. Priyanka Chopra’s company Purple Pebble Pictures and Orlando Bloom’s Amazing Owl are part of the producing team. Nadine de Barros serves as executive producer.
The producers said Jordan Rawlins and Matt Smukler created a gripping story. They added they are happy to work with Priyanka Chopra and Orlando Bloom to bring it to the big screen.
Fortitude International is financing the film. The company will start selling international rights at the Marché du Film in Cannes. Verve Ventures, UTA, and WME Independent will handle North American rights.
Priyanka Chopra’s Busy Schedule and Recent Success
Priyanka Chopra has many projects in the works. Her recent film The Bluff debuted at number 1 on Prime Video worldwide. Before that, she starred in Heads of State with Idris Elba and John Cena. That film became Prime Video’s fourth most-watched movie with over 75 million views.
Season 2 of her show Citadel on Prime Video released on May 6, 2026. She plays the lead role alongside Richard Madden. She is also filming Varanasi, an action-adventure film directed by SS Rajamouli. That movie stars Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. It marks her return to Indian cinema after nearly ten years and will release in April 2027.

No release date for Reset has been announced yet. No streaming platform has been confirmed either. The film will look for buyers at the Cannes film market in the coming weeks.
