Loading

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor expressed his emotions about his late father, Rishi Kapoor. This came during the 69th Filmfare Awards announcement on Sunday night, where Ranbir was honored with the Best Actor award for his role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film ‘Animal.’ Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt received accolades as the Best Actress for her performance in ‘Rocky and Rani’s Love Story.’

Last year, Ranbir Kapoor’s film ‘Animal’ was released, achieving remarkable success at the box office, crossing the 800-crore mark worldwide.

After receiving the award, Ranbir Kapoor paid tribute to his departed father, saying, “I think of you every day. I remember you every day. The moments filled with love that I spent with you are unforgettable. I hope wherever you are, you are at peace.”

Ranbir, who recently became a father himself, shared a heartwarming moment about his daughter, Raha, born just a week before the shooting for ‘Animal’ began. He affectionately described her as mischievous and expressed his desire to experience every thrill with her.

In a touching social media post, Ranbir’s mother, Neetu Kapoor, also congratulated the duo, expressing her pride. She wrote, “I secretly prayed for the memories of 2019 to be fresh for both of you. Congratulations. I am very proud of both of you.”

The year 2019 had been significant for Ranbir and Alia, with both receiving Best Actor and Best Actress awards for ‘Sanju’ and ‘Raazi,’ respectively.

Looking ahead, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are set to collaborate in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film, ‘Love and War.’ The movie, which also stars Vicky Kaushal, promises an intense narrative. Additionally, Alia Bhatt will grace the screens with her action-packed performance in the film ‘Jigra,’ set to release on September 27th. Co-produced by Alia and Karan Johar, ‘Jigra’ marks her debut in the action genre.
