Alan Ritchson’s Reacher has crossed a massive streaming milestone even as the show loses its long-held No. 1 position on Prime Video. The fourth season of the action thriller accumulated more than 5 billion minutes of viewing across its first five weeks on the platform, according to Nielsen data shared by The Hollywood Reporter. The same week that the show’s finale aired, its own spin-off, Neagley, knocked it off the top spot on Prime Video’s global charts.
The numbers paint a clear picture of a franchise that is expanding rather than fading. Reacher Season 4 premiered on August 12 with three episodes, and the season concluded on September 16. Across the week of September 7 to September 13, the show pulled in 1.182 billion viewing minutes in the United States, marking its fifth straight week above the billion-minute mark.
Reacher Season 4 Nielsen Numbers Week by Week
The streaming data shows a remarkably steady performance for the season. In its opening week (August 10-16), Reacher drew 1.5 billion minutes, with 79% of that total coming from the three new episodes that had just dropped. The second week added another 1.5 billion minutes, and the third week brought in roughly 1.2 billion minutes. The show held above one billion minutes for the fourth and fifth weeks as well.
That level of consistency put Reacher at No. 1 on Nielsen’s overall streaming chart for four of the five weeks following its premiere. The only week it did not lead overall, it still stayed near the top of the rankings. The series also topped Nielsen’s original series chart during the week of September 7-13, ahead of titles like The Gentlemen (881 million minutes) and Lioness (834 million minutes).
Neagley Takes the Crown from Reacher
The spin-off Neagley launched in full on September 16, the same day as the Reacher season finale, letting fans binge both shows back to back. According to FlixPatrol data, Neagley moved to the No. 1 spot on Prime Video’s global TV chart by September 21, with Reacher sitting at No. 2.
The shift happened quickly. Reacher had held the No. 1 position on Prime Video for 37 consecutive days before Neagley took over. The spin-off follows Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, a former member of Reacher’s team who now works as a private detective in Chicago. Ritchson makes a guest appearance in the spin-off, connecting the two shows directly.

Alan Ritchson addressed the chart change in an Instagram post, calling it “bittersweet.” He was on his way to shoot Reacher Season 5 in Toronto when he shared his thoughts.
“It’s a bittersweet day for me here in Reacherville as I head off to work to shoot Reacher Season 5 in cold, blustery Toronto. Reacher has been dethroned. The top spot taken by our spin-off Neagley.”
He also congratulated Maria Sten and the rest of the Neagley cast. “It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person,” he said, adding that the two productions share the same crew, which he called “a good thing in a lot of ways”.
Reacher Universe Keeps Growing on Prime Video
The one-two punch of Reacher and Neagley holding the top two spots on Prime Video’s global chart shows how much the franchise has grown since it launched in 2022. Neagley holds a 93% Tomatometer score and an 86% Popcornmeter score on Rotten Tomatoes, indicating that audience interest extends beyond Ritchson’s main role.
Reacher Season 4 itself holds a 94% “Certified Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes, matching the strong critical reception of previous seasons. The show has already been renewed for a fifth season, with development in progress. Prime Video has not yet announced a second season for Neagley.
