The next chapter of Subaru Natsuki‘s painful journey is almost here. Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World– Season 4 Episode 7 arrives on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and the group is still stuck dealing with the arrogant Reid Astrea at the Pleiades Watchtower.
Episode 6 left fans with a mixed bag of emotions. Julius Juukulius got his pride crushed twice by Reid, who fought using nothing but chopsticks. But Emilia managed to pull off a surprising win against the same opponent, proving she is not someone to ignore. Now, the team needs to figure out how to move forward without losing anyone else.

What Happened Before Episode 7
The battle against the first Sword Saint, Reid, is not going well. Julius was confident in his swordsmanship, but Reid beat him without even drawing a real weapon, calling his skills lacking. This loss hit Julius hard, damaging his spirit more than his body.
Meanwhile, Rem remains asleep and Patrasche is recovering in the “Green Room,” a special area in the tower that heals physical wounds. The group is currently regrouping and trying to find a way to get past the second floor of the trials.
Preview Hints at a Late Night Talk
The production team has released the preview for Episode 7, titled “Leaving the Convenience Store, Into a Fantasy World.” The focus seems to shift away from combat and toward strategy and secrets.

The preview materials suggest a quieter but tense atmosphere. After a short meal, Subaru wakes up in the middle of the night and finds Eridna (the spirit controlling Anastasia Hoshin‘s body) standing on the balcony. Eridna stops pretending to be Anastasia, and the two might finally talk about what they really want from the tower. However, their private conversation might be overheard by Julius, setting up more trust issues within the group.
The Danger of the Pleiades Watchtower
The current story arc is pushing Subaru to his limit. The group is heading deeper into the Auguria Dunes, a desert so dangerous that even the legendary Reinhard could not conquer it alone. Their goal is to find a “wise man” named Shaula who might know how to fix Rem’s condition.
Julius Juukulius suffered a devastating defeat against Reid Astrea, who wielded only chopsticks. The first Sword Saint’s power remains an impossible wall for the group.
New preview stills show the harsh environment of the desert and the emotional weight on Subaru’s face. He is determined to save Rem, but with the trials getting harder, every step forward feels like it might break him.

Re:ZERO Season 4 is running in two parts. Episode 7 is the seventh episode of the first part, known as the “Loss Arc.” There will be 11 episodes in this spring run before the show takes a short break.
