The contestant line-up for Rise & Fall Season 2 continues to grow, with the makers revealing three major additions to the upcoming season of the high-stakes reality show. Tej Pratap Yadav, Sara Gurpal and Kajal Raghwani are the latest celebrities confirmed to enter the Tower, joining previously announced contestants including Swara Bhasker, Shehzad Poonawalla, Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Karan Patel. The new season premieres on September 26 and will stream for free on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app.
Tej Pratap Yadav Brings Political Power to the Tower
Tej Pratap Yadav is trading the rough and tumble of Bihar politics for a very different kind of power struggle. The son of veteran politician Lalu Prasad Yadav and a former Bihar minister is among the latest names to enter the reality show. His entry video reveals a contestant who is fully aware of the game’s dynamics and is preparing to play it on his own terms.
In his announcement clip, Tej Pratap compares himself to a banyan tree, pointing to the strength of its roots even when the tree appears to be shaking.
“When we stumbled along the way, everyone had a field day at our expense—but they forgot that we are a banyan tree, one whose roots are far stronger than its branches. That is precisely why we are coming to Rise & Fall to kick up a storm.”
For Tej Pratap, simply reaching the Penthouse does not appear to be the goal. He has already envisioned transforming the space into his own court and ruling over those in the Basement below.
“They won’t just take over the penthouse; they will hold court and rule over the people in the basement below.”
His declaration, “Humara parivaar pura Bihar hai,” adds a personal and political touch to his introduction, signaling that he views the entire state as his family.
Sara Gurpal and Kajal Raghwani Add Star Power
Sara Gurpal and Kajal Raghwani bring their own distinct fan bases and reality television experience to the mix. Sara is known for her work across Punjabi entertainment, while Kajal has established herself as a prominent name in Bhojpuri cinema.
Their entry adds two more unique personalities to a line-up that already spans television, films, reality shows and public life. Sara Gurpal is recognized for her spirited personality, while Kajal Raghwani brings a strong screen presence and an established connection with audiences.
The two join a game where the experience changes completely depending on which side of the Tower they land on. Contestants in the Penthouse enjoy the privileges of being Rulers, while those in the Basement face a very different set of challenges as Workers.
Former Splitsvilla Contestants Niharika Tiwari and Kaira Return
The season also marks the return of former Splitsvilla contestants Niharika Tiwari and Kaira to the reality-show space. Their announcement video suggests that their existing equation is unlikely to remain outside the Tower. The two trade sharp remarks, with Kaira taking a dig at Niharika’s accent and appearance, while Niharika warns Kaira that she cannot simply rely on her familiar style to move ahead in this game.
Their history could create an interesting dynamic once they enter the Tower, especially since the show requires contestants to constantly negotiate shifting alliances and changing positions.
What Is the Format of Rise & Fall Season 2
Rise & Fall Season 2 is adapted from the hit U.K. format originally created by Studio Lambert. The show is built around a shifting hierarchy in which players move between Ruler and Worker positions, with their standing shaped by in-game decisions rather than scripted outcomes.
The contestants are divided between the luxurious Penthouse and the far less comfortable Basement, with their positions in the game constantly at risk. Power can shift through challenges, strategy, alliances, betrayals and votes, allowing those at the top to fall and those below to rise.
The season features 15 celebrities competing across a 42-day run. Episodes will drop daily at 12 PM, with the game’s power dynamics promising constant shifts and unpredictable outcomes.
Virender Sehwag Makes Hosting Debut
Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is stepping into the host’s chair for the second season, replacing Ashneer Grover. This marks Sehwag’s OTT debut as a host.
Sehwag shared his thoughts on taking on the role, drawing a parallel between cricket and the unpredictability of the show.
“Cricket has taught me one thing—no match is won before the final ball, and Rise and Fall Season 2 takes that unpredictability to another level. As a host, what excites me about this game is that there are no easy wins and no fixed positions.”
His entry brings a sports legend’s perspective to a game where strategy, timing and nerve are just as important as in any high-stakes match.

The confirmed contestants have been vocal about their reasons for joining the show. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, who has prior reality-television credits, said the power dynamics add a new layer to the experience.
