Contract Wars and The New Agent
The episode kicks off with Isla dealing with a serious issue regarding player Dyson Gibbs. He wants a much larger contract, even though the team is dangerously close to going over their salary cap. Isla feels personally hurt by this. She says she can never forgive betrayal, and she sees Dyson’s demands as exactly that because she โdiscovered himโ and helped build his career.
Isla finds out Dyson got a new agent named Clint. When she meets Clint, he is unhappy about not being invited to her wedding. He lists Dyson’s demands: a four-year deal worth $160 million, his own bobblehead night, and changing his jersey number to a bible verse. Isla says no to the money but agrees to the other requests. When Clint refuses to back down, Isla lowers the offer to five years for $22 million.
Financial Secrets and Family Lies
While Isla fights Dyson’s agent, another problem emerges in the office. Aruna finds a check for $2 million made out to a rehab center. The check has Isla’s brother Sandy’s signature on it. Sandy looks surprised and says he will โwork on it.โ Later, Sandy confronts brother Cam about the money.
Cam explains he used company funds to get out of the rehab center early. He says he was already sober and the center would not let him leave. Sandy understands the situation and tells Cam he will put him on a payment plan and push the check to the next quarter’s budget. This creates a secret that could hurt the family business later.

Isla goes to talk to Dyson herself. But Dyson is not interested in listening to her. He feels disrespected by the low money offer. At the same time, Clint keeps pushing Isla. He says Dyson has a bigger offer from another team. Isla must match the money offer, or Dyson will leave the Waves for good.
Jackie steps in to help Isla. He tells her the real problem is that Dyson feels she treats him like a โcharity case.โ Isla calls Dyson to her house. She opens up and apologizes for how she acted. But during the talk, she makes a big discovery. There was no trade demand from Dyson. Clint made the whole thing up to scare Isla into paying more money. Dyson was loyal the entire time.
The Real Target Revealed
Just when Isla thinks she has fixed the problem, the episode delivers a final twist. Everyone believed the Toronto Poacher came for Dyson. That was wrong.
