Soundous Moufakir did not hold back after her exit from The Traitors Season 2. The Moroccan model and actress blamed fellow contestant Shahneel Gill for her elimination, saying the decision came from personal insecurity rather than game strategy.
The reality show, hosted by Karan Johar, started streaming on Prime Video and quickly delivered drama. Within the first few episodes, five contestants left the competition. Soundous Moufakir became one of them after the Traitors group chose to “murder” her.
Shahneel Gill Joined the Traitors and Targeted Soundous
Shahneel Gill, who is the sister of Indian cricketer Shubman Gill, entered the show as an Innocent. But on the very first day, the Traitors group recruited her. The original Traitors were Krystle D’Souza, Kullu (Aditya Kulshreshth), and Harman Singha. They chose Shahneel to become the fourth Traitor.
Once Shahneel joined the secret group, she quickly made her move. On the second day, she suggested “murdering” Soundous Moufakir. The Traitors agreed, and Soundous was eliminated from the game.
Soundous later spoke about what happened. She said there was no real game reason for her elimination.
“What made me feel bad is that there wasn’t any valid reason for voting me out! The valid reason I believe is true is that I was eliminated because Shahneel Gill wouldn’t let any other girl who is more entertaining, confident, and beautiful be there. So I was more of a personal threat to her rather than a game threat!”
Soundous Called Shahneel’s Move Personal and Insecure
Soundous gave multiple interviews after her exit. She made it clear that she believes Shahneel targeted her for personal reasons.
“It was Shahneel who took my name. I think when you are a girl and you choose to hurt another girl, it says a lot about your character, especially when the person you are targeting is beautiful, opinionated and confident, and hasn’t done anything to hurt you in the game. It comes across as insecurity rather than strength. I think it was more on a personal level.”
She repeated this point in other conversations. Soundous felt that Shahneel saw her as a threat because of her confidence and personality, not because of anything she did in the game.
Soundous also pointed out that Shahneel became a Traitor after being recruited. Before that, Shahneel was an Innocent like everyone else. But once she got power, she used it against another woman.
Munawar Faruqui Supported Soundous During the Interview
Munawar Faruqui, who also got eliminated from the show, was present when Soundous shared her thoughts. He laughed at her comments, and Soundous called him out for it. But Munawar then praised her for being honest.
“She is such a smart girl, and I really respect her for putting across her point. We think twice before saying, wondering whether I should say it or not, but Soundous is so brave, and she always speaks her heart out.”
Munawar was one of the first contestants to leave The Traitors Season 2. His exit also created buzz because he was an Innocent, not a Traitor.
Soundous Also Took a Dig at Mallika Sherawat’s Gameplay
Soundous did not stop at Shahneel. She also spoke about Mallika Sherawat, another contestant on the show. Mallika has been talking about her glamorous lifestyle, including claims that Tom Cruise once had a crush on her.
Soundous said this kind of talk does not fit the show.
“I think, as a personality, you might be shining, but if you want to shine that way, then please go to Bigg Boss. If you want to be a Traitor and join a show about Traitors, and all you want to talk about is diamonds, Paris and Los Angeles, then I would be the first one. I would only talk about Morocco and my friends.”
She added a sharp comment about Mallika and her French passport.
“I have a French passport; Mallika Sherawat doesn’t have one. If you’re thinking about reel cuts all day long, then I don’t think it adds to the show or makes it entertaining for the audience.”
Soundous Said She Is Done With Reality Shows
Soundous has been on reality TV before. She appeared in Splitsvilla and Khatron Ke Khiladi. But now she feels ready to move on.
“Reality started my career with Splitsvilla. At the time, I genuinely didn’t know how to speak Hindi, so it was a big disadvantage for me when I wanted to enter the film industry. But I think I’m done with reality now. I should also move on from it because I need to grow beyond that, and I think it’s high time.”
She made it clear that she wants to focus on her acting career and leave reality television behind.
The Traitors Season 2 Had a Dramatic First Week
The Traitors Season 2 started with 21 celebrity contestants. The show is hosted by Karan Johar and streams on Prime Video. New episodes release every Thursday.
The first week saw several big names leave the competition:
- Dalip Tahil was the first to exit after the opening cage challenge.
- Karan Singh Magic was murdered by the Traitors.
- Munawar Faruqui was eliminated at the Circle of Shaq.
- Soundous Moufakir was murdered by the Traitors.
- Harman Singha was voted out and revealed as a Traitor.
The Traitors group now includes Krystle D’Souza, Kullu, and Shahneel Gill. The Innocents still do not know that Shahneel has joined the Traitors.
Soundous was chosen because of her outspoken nature. Multiple reports said she was “murdered for being too dangerous to keep around”. Her willingness to speak her mind made her a target early in the game.
